PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Be respectful to peers, staff, volunteers and public 2. Listen and follow all directions from staff and volunteers 3. Stay with your assigned group and leader 4. Keep hands and feet to yourself 5. Use friendly language and tones of voice 6. Use equipment and supplies appropriatly PROGRAM LEVELS

LEVEL 1

(Participants With Mild Disabilities) - No assistance managing any terrain - Can maintain their own personal hygiene without assistance - Can follow multiple step instructions - Able to convey feelings, desires and emotions

LEVEL 2

(Participants With Moderate Disabilities) - No assistance with level surfaces - Can maintain their own personal hygiene with verbal cues - Can follow single step instructions - Able to convey feelings, desires and needs with picture cues or ASL

LEVEL 3

(Participants with Severe Disabilities) - Assistance or self propelled device - Personal hygien with some assistance - Can follow instructions with assistance - Able to convey feelings, desires and needs with pictrue cues or ASL

LEVEL 4

(Participants who are Medically Fragile) - Full assistance and/or self propelled device - Personal hygiene with full assistance - Limited comprehension - Able to convey feelings, desires and needs with full assistance

WHY PROGRAM LEVELS? The safety and well being of our participants is paramount and we want them to get the most out of every activity offered. A participant may start our programs at a certain level but over time their life skills, mobility, and cognitive abilities may change. We assign levels to our activities based on research and experience. Please contact us if you have any questions about your participant.

ADAPTIVE RECREATIONAL BOWLING

All Ages • Thursdays (3:45-5 PM) $55 (15 game punch card with shoe rental) $49 (15 game punch card without shoe rental) Bowling, fun, friends at Olathe Lanes East! Purchase your punch card from the Olathe Community Center.

ADAPTIVE REC BINGO

Ages 8+ • One 90-Minute Session $10 Big night! Big prizes! In actuality, just a whole lot of fun with your friends and family members. Dinner provided as well as a bingo card for participants. Please register everyone who will be playing bingo so they are eligible for prizes!

All Ages • One 2-Hour Session $10 Dust off your dancing shoes and grab your friends for a great night out. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. Registration includes: dinner, photo fun booth, and staffing.

Ages 12+ • Eight 30-Minute Sessions $50 Get sport ready with physical fitness and athletic activities to keep you in shape. For athletes that participate in a minimum of one sport per year.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS FISHING

Ages 8+ • Four 2-Hour Sessions $35 Learn the basics of fishing or improve the skills you already have. Meets at Cedar Creek Lake; registration includes fishing license, bait and tackle, poles and instructor. Fishing dates April 4,11,18,25

SPECIAL OLYMPICS BOWLING

Ages 8+ • 8 Sessions $40 Bowlers will be taught rules and coached during this bowling practice time. Bowling team will practice on Thursday’s from 3:30-5:00 pm. at Olathe Lanes East. Please note 2 registration codes and register for the correct age group. You must register for this and come to practices during this time in order to participate in tournaments. Registration will include metro tournament fee. Please note: Bowlers may not use bumpers in tournaments. Metro Tournament: June 27th no additional registration required State Tournament: TBD additional registration required
