ON THE COVER:
There’s something about the way it feels here.
The way it looks, the textures, the weight of all the history under our feet and in the walls. The chaos of all the tourists and the Florida weather, but also the strong sense of small town pride.
This art piece has grown from a few different ideas and designs, all being inspired by my time living here. I wanted to give viewers a feeling of both strength and adventure. And I created this piece using layers. Layers of paint, sand, shells, paper and more paint. St. Augustine to me, consists of layers. Layers of history, weather, sand, shells, wildlife and yes,
adventure.
So in composing this piece, I wanted to reflect those layers of strength and adventure with a Coat of Arms, movie-poster-like design, energetically representing elements and symbols of St. Augustine.
