Dear Class of 2012, It may seem unlikely, but in a few short weeks, you will walk across the Quad for the last time as graduating seniors. The past four years have been a time of immense intellectual and personal growth. You have discovered your interests and passions, made life-long friends and had incredible experiences both on campus and abroad.

During your time at Wake Forest, you’ve seen the arrival of a new Provost, ups and downs in athletics, the renovation of the Benson University Center and a plethora of construction projects that will transform the campus.

We at the Old Gold & Black would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on this critical milestone in your life. These students are the recipients of both prestigious scholarships, like the Goldwater and Fulbright, and countless fellowships to programs to both abroad and all over the country.

Although there is no way to recognize each of the outstanding seniors on campus, we hope that this issue demonstrates the wide breadth of majors that the university boasts and the tremendous feats accomplished by all the graduating students over their four years here.

While working on this special issue, the editorial staff of the Old Gold & Black was truly awestruck by the extracurricular, academic and humanitarian achievements accomplished by this distinguished class.

It has been a pleasure getting to know you over the past four years, and we know that you will go on to make a tangible impact on whichever field you choose.

Over the past few years, Whicker noteed her close connection with faculty.
