ST520 HELMET DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

DESIGN

3D MODELING

STAGE 1: FÊlix Helmets works with well-known independent designers to share his expectations and transcribe the first designs of the helmet according to specifications defined by the brand’s DNA.

STAGE 2: The design office takes over and transcribes the design from a scan of a high-security template and then performs a 3D retopology before proceeding to a surface reconstruction. Air circulation and friction tests are conducted on Creo Parametric. Essential phase to move to prototyping.

PROTOTYPE

PRE-PRODUCTION

STAGE 3: The prototyping step by 3D stereolithography process is initiated. A prototype, made of special epoxy resin solidified by slices mm by mm with laser, is produced then sandblasted. This is an essential step to judge the volume of the helmet. After validation and verification of volumes, definition and realization of the inner lining and integration of the parameters for industrial production.

STAGE 4: Finalisation of the cap and internal foams, the covering and peripheral elements (liners, visor, shield) to carry out functionality and wear tests in real-ride use situations. Return of analyses and validation before pre-production.

ST520 OPEN FACE HELMET

With its characteristic return of the shell to the jaws and the inevitable presence of a sun visor, the hallmarks of the first open helmets used in car racing, the ST520 open face clearly shows its origins. In addition to the style, there is a real consistency in terms of safety with this extra protection, which makes it possible to offer the best compromise: open like a jet, but sufficiently enveloping at the bottom of its cap to offer optimal protection. With its fibreglass shell, removable and washable interior in synthetic leather or suede fabric, optimized ventilation, the ST520 benefits from all the refinements of a premium helmet.

- Enveloping, jet-style motorcycle helmet. - Fiberglass shell, the perfect trade-off between durability, shock resistanc, and light weight. - 2 shell sizes available, with multi-density EPS padding. - Interior in perforated synthetic leather and suede-touch fabric, fully removable and washable. - Interior designed for easy slide-on over glasses. - Removable visor with sun shield limits reflection into the eyes. - Optimal ventilation via 2 extractor vents at the back. - Reinforced Double-D fastening buckle in stainless metal with a fabric pull-tab. - E22-05 certified helmet. - Weight: 1200gr. (+/-50gr.) - Delivered with its cotton-lined synthetic leather carry bag, with handles and a zip closure.

F1970 FULL FACE HELMET In preview at EICMA with a release for autumn 20, the F1970 is the expected extension of the ST520 in the Félix Helmets range. More than ever, it claims the brand’s DNA by receiving an appellation that fully defines it: « F » for Félix and « 1970 » in reference to the year of appearance of the first full face helmets in Formula 1. Developed using the latest manufacturing techniques, the F1970 reveals a characteristic style and assumes its origins with its high chinrest, profiled in its lower part and its very enveloping shell and its 3. 2 mm thick shield directly from car racing. Add to this a fibreglass shell with optimised ventilation, a fully removable and washable interior in synthetic leather and suede fabric, and you have all the refinements of a premium full-face helmet with the F1970. Except a big difference: its unique look! - Full-face helmet. - Fiberglass shell, the perfect trade-off between durability, shock resistance, and light weight. - 2 shell sizes available, with multi-density EPS padding. - Optical grade injected 3.2mm shield (2 to 2.5mm on a standard shield) for preserved vision under most severe circumstances. - Shield mechanism from parts used in F1. - Optimized shell and shield design resulting in improved aerodynamic. - Integrated front spoiler to reduce air resistance. - Multiple venting and extraction. -Interior in perforated synthetic leather/suede-touch fabric, fully removable and washable for a perfect comfort. - Interior ready for communication system. - Reinforced Double-D fastening buckle in stainless metal with a fabric pull-tab. - Weight: 1350gr. (+/-50gr.) - E22-05 certified helmet. - Sizes available: SM - MD - LG - LG – XL – XXL - Delivered with its cotton-lined synthetic leather carry bag, with handles and a zip closure.

* The F1970 is CE 2205 certified for motorcycle usage. As it is not FIA certified, it is designed for sport drive use, but not for competition.
