Brewed with pale malt with white candi sugar in the ke le, the Nugget hops give an extra bi erness to balance the extreme sweetness due to the density. It is a very interes)ng beer to age. De Glazen Toren Canaster

Canaster, a subtle Scotch beer. The name Canaster clearly refers to an ancient brewing tradi)on of Aalst. Centuries ago Canaster was brewed in the Carmelite convent in Aalst. The archeological site was recently uncovered and is the subject of an historical inves)ga)on. Canaster now relives as a Winter Scotch, a beer for the long, cold winter evenings.

Harvey’s Christmas Ale

Harvey's award-winning Christmas Ale has been brewed for over a quarter of a century! Dark in color, the Christmas Ale is a "heavily hopped" beer with a blend of Maris O er Pale Ale Malts, highly roasted "crystal" malts, and pinhead oats. The beer is reminiscent of the strong "stock" ales drunk during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It has remarkably good stability and some devotees keep it for twelve months before drinking it!

Warms body and soul, especially in cold weather. During long winter evenings we create our hot Highland Winter Mead by adding vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. This is a long and well-loved tradi)on during the cold winters.

The tradi)on of spiced mead started in the Middle Ages. Hot mead infused with precious spices was served to guests as a gree)ng. Served warm, fragrant spices and the masterly interweaving of sweetness and acidity mean that these aromas and the mead itself combine to produce a harmoniously accomplished and refreshing warm drink
