TIP OFF • Ole Miss opens SEC play Thursday when the Rebels welcome the No. 8 nationally-ranked Kentucky Wildcats to Oxford. This marks the third-straight season the Rebels have opened league play with the Wildcats. • This marks just the fifth time in the last 19 seasons Ole Miss has opened conference play at home. • A win would be the Rebels’ first over a top-10 foe since knocking off then No. 10 Missouri in 2013. • The Rebels lead the SEC with a +6.6 rebounding margin and rank second in the league pulling down 42.0 rpg. Ole Miss has outrebounded all but one opponent this year and are third in the SEC grabbing 14.0 offensive rpg. • Ole Miss tied a school record with 13 blocked shots in the win over Bradley and rank ninth in the nation averaging 6.5 blocked shots a game. • With the win over Bradley, head coach Andy Kennedy moved past former UK coach Rick Pitino for 19th on the SEC career coaching victories list and now has 221 wins at Ole Miss. Kentucky coach John Calipari ranks 18th on the list with 227 victories. • Senior F Sebastian Saiz recorded his 16th career double-double with 23 points and 16 boards in Ole Miss’ win over South Alabama. Saiz leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally pulling down 12.1 rebounds a game, and has seven double-doubles this season, which leads the league and ranks 10th in the nation. He is averaging 16.1 ppg and 12.6 rpg over the last 11 games and is the only player in the SEC this season averaging a double-double. Saiz is the league’s active career leader with 744 rebounds and is closing in on Coolidge Ball, who ranks 10th in Ole Miss history with 754 career boards. • Sophomore G Terence Davis tied a career-high with 19 points in the Rebels’ win over Bradley. Davis has posted two double-doubles in his last four games and is averaging 15.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg over those four games. • Junior G Cullen Neal posted nine assists and no turnovers in the win over South Alabama and has 20 assists against just one turnover over his last three games.
