TIP OFF • Ole Miss faces Creighton in the championship game of the Paradise Jam Monday. The Rebels knocked off Saint Joseph’s in the semifinals and are 21-8 in regular-season tournaments under Andy Kennedy. • This marks Ole Miss’ second trip to the Virgin Islands, as the Rebels posted a 2-1 mark at the 2011 Paradise Jam. • The Rebels are a perfect 10-0 all-time record against the Paradise Jam field, including 1-0 versus Creighton. • Head coach Andy Kennedy ranks 20th on the SEC career coaching victories list with 216 wins. He is three wins shy of tying Rick Pitino for 19th on the list. • Ole Miss has racked up a 55-9 record in November games under Andy Kennedy, including a 4-0 mark this year. • A win wold give Ole Miss a 5-0 mark for the first time since 2013-14 when the Rebels won their first six games. • Last season, head coach Andy Kennedy moved past MSU’s Rick Stansbury for the fourth-most wins by a head coach in their first 10 years after taking over an SEC program. Kennedy trails only Joe B. Hall, of Kentucky, (227), Billy Donovan, of Florida, (226) and Wimp Sanderson, of Alabama, (216) in SEC history. • Junior G Deandre Burnett scored a career-high 41 points in the Rebels’ win over Oral Roberts. The 41-point outburst is the most in the nation this season and was a Paradise Jam tournament record. His nine 3-pointers made in the game is the second most in school history, one shy of Marshall Henderson’s school record. • Senior F Sebastian Saiz recorded his 11th career double-double a career-high 26 points and a 12 boards in Ole Miss’ win over Saint Joseph’s. Saiz also posted a double-double in the Rebels’ win over UMass with 22 points and a career-best 19 rebounds. His 19 rebounds was the most by a Rebel since Murphy Holloway pulled down 20 in 2010 and is the most in the SEC this season. • Senior F Sebastian Saiz is the second-leading returning rebounder in the SEC from last season and is the league’s active career leader with 639 rebounds. He also ranks second in the league among active players with 11 career double-doubles and leads the league this season pulling down 10.0 boards a game.
