Updating an existing SCORE 5 version to a newer version..........................4
1 Essential update Due to the nature of multiplex amplification, some alleles can react within one single SSP mix with multiple amplification sizes or multiple primers with identical amplification sizes. In order to allow this redundant allele coverage, an updated version of SCORE is required and has been released. This now enables multiple occurrences of one single allele within one mix with consistent documentation of the primer pair that can cause this amplification. Please note: even if an allele can be amplified with multiple amplicon sizes, you might not see all sizes due to competing amplification. SCORE adjusts for this in its analysis logic. After the update, you will have to update/re-import the typing kits from the new typing kit database.

2 New features 2.1
Gel-display:
If you opt to utilize the multiplex information of a mix, you can enter the observed reactivity either unspecific with the value “any” or as a specific band size.
To differentiate, the size specific entry is now displayed in a darker color, the unspecific entry will be displayed at the shortest band size position in the lighter color. This provides you with differentiated information about what you have entered. The meaning of the different colors is depicted in the gel configuration screen:
Please note that colors change depending on your color mode selection. Qiaxcel entry: SCORE now displays reported bands that are categorized as “control bands” in a specific color. This will help you to visualize the obtained information and critical positions in cases where reported band lengths are close to both the control band and a specific band position.

2.2
Patient and sample editing
If you edit existing information on patients or samples (first name, family name, patient ID, sample ID), you will be prompted to confirm that you are going to change this information.
2.3
Alignmnent viewer
You can select now any allele sequence as reference.
3 Updating an existing SCORE 5 version to a newer version If you have already installed SCORE 5 and received an update, there is no need to re-install or download the complete installation package. Unless explicitly told otherwise, you just have to exchange the front-end file SCORE.accdr. You can find the current location of your SCORE.accdr file via the ribbon Info, support and then Version.
This opens a window with all relevant file locations.
In this case, the front end file is located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\SCORE\SCORE.accdr
