Radio Everyone aims to bring together the world’s radio stations and audio platforms in a way never seen before, to promote the new set of UN Goals. It is a 7 day pop up Radio station. It forms one part of ‘Project Everyone’ devised by Richard Curtis, the British filmmaker and founder of Comic Relief. What is Project Everyone? Project Everyone’s mission is that once the Sustainable Development Goals are signed, every single person on the planet will receive them within 7 days of them being announced (from 26th Sept 2015). We will do this via a huge communication and distribution effort to make the goals ‘famous'. The more noise, discussion and public involvement that there is with the Goals, the more chance that the goals will be met by 2030. What will happen during the 7 days of Project Everyone? TV and MUSIC: Global Citizen are staging a live show in Central Park. Curated by Chris Martin with artistic direction from Richard Curtis, a one-hour cut down will be shown by broadcasters worldwide. FILM: Together with SAWA, Project Everyone is creating the first ever global cinema advertising campaign. This global campaign will reach millions of cinema-goers. LESSON: The World’s Largest Lesson, delivered in partnership with UNICEF, will be the largest collaborative education project the world has ever seen. MOBILE: We are working with 5 of the world’s largest mobile operators to send a global text message. DIGITAL: We are working with the digital giants to deliver the greatest digital marketing plan in history. BRANDS: We are working with the world’s largest companies and most high-profile brands, ranging from Wikipedia to Standard Chartered. FAITH: We are working closely with the UN and interfaith groups with a specific aim to create the world’s largest prayer during the 7 days of launch week. (and Radio…… cont)

What is Radio Everyone? Radio Everyone will be at the forefront of Project Everyone activity. We want to exploit radio’s unique position as the world’s most accessible medium (97% of the world’s population) and harness the collective power of radio broadcasters to communicate the goals to people across the world. Radio Everyone content will be created by the world’s most famous musicians, cultural leaders and broadcasters. They will come together to create brilliant and unique programming, ready to be shared with our network of partner broadcasters We are inviting broadcasters to become part of our global network by putting together their own programmes focussing on the Goals and their related themes and broadcasting them at some point during the 7 days of Radio Everyone. We have confirmed stations in (amongst others) the UK, India, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Indonesia, Italy and the US, and are in conversations with potential partners around the globe. What will we provide to broadcasters? Partner broadcasters will have access to Radio Everyone content in a kit of parts form, to enable broadcasters to tailor make an offering for their individual audience, demographic and format. Content will include: Station sound composed by Peter Gabriel and produced by a range of cutting edge global musicians Exclusive short form content from global celebrities, likely to include Gilberto Gil, Emicida, Seu Jorge, Cody Simpson, Nile Rogers, Mo Farah, Melinda Gates, AR Rahman, Priyanka Chopra, Heile Gebresellasie, 2Face Idiba and many others. 17 PSA packages about the individual Goals. These will be provided in a range of languages – including English, Spanish, French, Swahili, Arabic, Chinese, Hindi and Portuguese – but are easily re-recorded in any language Fact packs on the MDG’s and a guide to what the Global Goals are – provided by the UN We also hope to deliver some unique live music moments (details to follow)

A central Radio Everyone online stream will run on the Global Goals site with longer form programmes, and individual pieces of content will be available to stream on demand. Broadcasters are welcome to submit programmes to be considered for inclusion on this stream. Your logo will feature on the project-everyone.org site, alongside the other participating broadcasters

What do you need to deliver? During the week of Radio Everyone, all partner stations must broadcast some programming which covers the Global Goals and helps in our mission to make them famous. This should be a minimum of an hour of airtime, but some stations are committing a day of programming and others are covering it daily in a strip show throughout the week. You can bring this to life in whatever form you like, and whatever works best for your format and audience. Options include: cover the signing of the goals as a news story use the celebrity clips as an entertainment story, but contextualise it with the Goals packages. interview engaged celebrities in your territory to talk about the themes of the goals commission some original journalism around the impact of the MDG’s in your country.

You could run a phone in, again punctuated by the celebrity clips. Themes to consider could be: What are your hopes for the next 15 years? How could we spread the message of the Goals to the 7 billion people – how do we “tell everyone” about the Goals? Do the Global Goals mean anything in my country? What should have been included?

You could work around the theme of the world coming together and radio stations uniting to spread the message. We have various concepts in development, including twinning participating radio stations from different parts of the globe, but again we are open to you delivering this as you would like. We are providing packages about each individual goal - which are approximately 60 seconds long. This allows your on air talent to talk about being part of Radio Everyone and the idea of making the goals famous but means they can rely of the pre-built package to deliver the more in depth messaging.
