Olive Prince Dance
Olive Prince Dance focuses on contemporary choreography that explodes with physicality, detail, gestures, and dynamic movement patterning. OPD was most recently commissioned by Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens to choreograph a site-specific piece for the 2011 Philadelphia International Arts Festival. In the same year, Prince was asked to choreograph on the Drexel University Dance Ensemble to present work at the International Youth Festival in Singapore. She was also selected to premier new work for the 2010 Live Arts Festival’s show 8 (8 choreographers/8 new works). She presented Under Desire a quartet that utilized a set piece of massive ropes that draped from the ceiling and sprawled onto the floor. In 2009, Prince was a commissioned choreographer for Group Motion Dance Company where she created site-specific work that premiered at the Philadelphia Art Museum as part of Group Motion’s City Dances/Parkway.
