All this despite the rise of Spanish women in sports and the achievements these have achieved, these are not reflected in sponsors, advertising campaigns, etc.; the effort they have made seems to useless.

Un lugar nuestro: Penetrante en el espacio. A Place of One’s Own: Penetrating public space
Using proxemics as a methodology, we are looking at how we can redesign a square of Tirso de Molina to promote tolerance among groups of different backgrounds.
Tirso de Molina is a square divided: the local homeless population occupies one corner while passersby plan their routes to avoid them. While the public, in general, has developed a passive acceptance of the homeless, local vendors would prefer the squatters vacated the square. Instead of simply seeking to erase the so-called problem, our group sought to redesign Tirso de Molina so that homeless and locals could interact to help improve the area and eachother’s lives. In interviews, the homeless expressed that the largest problems they face are lack of jobs and boredom. Currently, locals call upon the homeless to help out with tasks, such as walking their dogs and maintaining their gardens. We propose, therefore, that underused sections of the square be redesigned to accommodate work kiosks for the motivated homeless. These centers would legitimize the work the homeless perform while also providing them with a local currency that could be redeemed for select food, books and other amenities at local businesses.
