Sound Modifier Creek Access points 100m detailed design Overhead Path

4

This project is a manipulation of form to generate multiple sound-scape opportunities and ex perienc e at Moonee Ponds Creek. It is a constructed sound pavilion that can minimize the negative effect of the high way, which is one of the factors that drives residents away from engaging with the site . Also, these “sound modifiers not only act as sound buffers, but also echo chambers, seating space, pavilions, and so much more. The aim is to create a sound journey for users.

Different from the traditional car-sidewalk mode, new interventions are proposed in Chadleigh. 1. Traditional car-sidewalk mode. 2. Car-sidewalk with bike parking, which allows cyclists to park their bikes safely and easily. This happens on most of the civic roads at mid-block. 3. Sidewalks with extended green buffer. This appears on secondary roads. There is also an opportunity for this design to be water sensitive. 4. Sidewalk with bicycle racks, green, and seating space. This design would be used in the streets where there have no design #2.

3

16

6

5. Sidewalk with extended space for seating. This design will be near the mixed use zone and Oakleigh Town centre area, where there are cafes and street shops. 6. Sidewalk with extended bus stop space.
