Graduation Project Reason to chose cultural hub in slums area : The Financial problems aren’t the slum dwellers main problem .Actually alot of slum dwellers have they own property in countryside , they come to Cairo to raise more money . their huge main problem is the absence of any culture in their lives .
Project Concept:
My Project is a Glimmer Of Light for those who don’t have hope .it’s a Route to a better life , better future for slums dwellers and specially the younger generations .
Project Aims:
-Raise slums dwellers on the cultural side ( help them to have better people ) -Improve workers skills in different fields to earn their trust and allow them to have better jobs. -Give slums children a chance to be treated in a good way . -Allow slums children to have better future than their parents . -Save teenagers form the abuse they get by counseling. - Improve the slum enviroment by its people. -teach slums dwellers to handle their own business and don’t raise their kids as beggars.
Strategy to achieve these aims:
- Having Workshops For teach women, men and kids . - Build an trust between councilors and residents by these workshops . - Having alot of o pen spaces and interactive spaces to

al l materials are inspired from slums traditional materials such as 1- wood mullions that cover the big glass screens to reduce the sun heat ( from straw ) 2- red brick which is used in all hoses 3- box section structural system to reduce number of columns and is similar to birds tower that exist on top of most of slum houses , it’s like slums land mark .
form zoning concept :
The aim was to separate each category in their own building to feel intimate and private but also allow them to connect in some places .Also allow thinkers to have their own section to study but also allow people to see them and have connection with them so they won’t feel they’re less than them .
