First of all, congratulations on the new bundle of joy you are expecting. Becoming a parent is truly the most important and rewarding job you will ever have! Newborn sessions are my joy. Those sweet brand new little angles are my muse. You will never forget the first moment you laid eyes on your daughter or the first time you heard your son cry. These are truly magical moments. As much as we hope and pray they will stay little forever, they grow up anyway. Those first few weeks seem to fly by and each moment becomes a fleeting memory. As a newborn photographer, I strive to capture those first few weeks and turn the resulting images into a work of fine art to be treasured forever. Newborn photography requires a large amount of planning and an insane amount of patience, and you’ll be happy to know I am good at both :) I am very passionate about my job and making sure you get the most amazing newborn and child photography experience possible, you are my number one priority and motivator in order to become a better artist and business woman. WHAT TO EXPECT PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION Once you decide to schedule a session with me, we will set a tentative date based on your due date. I understand that babies rarely come when predicted and I will accommodate their personal plans for arrival. But a due date will give us a base line. Once your infant is born, please get in touch with me and we will firm up our date and time. BABIES ARE BEST PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE FIRST 14 DAYS OF THEIR NEW LITTLE LIVES.
They sleep better, don’t have colic yet, and usually haven’t started developing baby acne or cradle cap. If you are a c-section Mom, we can work out something out. I know that recovery can be slow and painful. Some of my clients send baby to the Studio with Dad. If baby has had a circumsision it is best to wait till day 1014 for photos. We don’t want him to be in pain while changing clothes and posing.
During YOUR SESSION Once you arrive I will give you some time to finish feeding and sooth your baby. I start my sessions by taking some portraits of your baby on a beanbag, and then capture the precious connection images of parents and siblings with your new little one. These are my favorite images becuase they show such love an connection for your new bundle of joy. Even if you don’t feel your best you will be so thankful you were in the photos with your newborn, and they will love seeing the pictures when they are older with mom and dad holding them being so happy. I will ask you to sign a model release. This allows me to use your images to promote my business on my website and in marketing materials. I will have samples of all of the products that are available for you to order if you want any proiducts other than digital images for you to look at and be able to touch and see in person.
After YOUR SESSION Now you can relax and dream about all the beautiful images that will soon be yours. I go through the images from your session and select the best. Once I have the “final cut” selected I will send you an online gallery to choose your favorite images. Once you have made your final decision I will edit each individual picture to correct any blemishes or redness and skin imperfections.
TIPS
PREPARATION & WARDROBE
• Avoid clothing with words or logos. They detract attention for YOU and your baby. • I have a wide assortment of Maternity dresses, shirts, newborn clothes and children clothes in white you can borrow for your session. • Be sure to wear the right undergarments! NUDE or WHITE underwear and bras are a great idea. • Wear clothes that compliment your beautiful shape, usually clothes that are tighter and accentuate your growing belly are best and I can pose you to look amazing. • There are so many great maternity dresses and newborn props on Etsy if you really want to get your own props, ask me and I can point you to some of my favorite vendors.

PROFESSIONAL? As a professional photographer that has been taking photos for over ten years I know exactly how to capture true emotion in a beautiful way. How to make your kids look like angels even if they aren’t acting like it haha. How to make ou look your best while pregnant and after you have had the baby even if you arent feeling you look your best. It’s all about angles and the poses. I know how to capture true joy and connection with my families, something that is harder for beginning cookie cutter photographers to master without lots of practice and guidance. Custom photography is simply that… a custom experience tailored to suit you, your style, your personality and your needs. My style is simplistic and timless white studio portraits. I have a wide variety of clothes in my style wardrobe for clients to wear. And my clients come to me for beautiful images that will never go out of style and that are perfect for hanging on their walls or in an Heirloom Album on the coffee table. I have spent a long time perfecting my editing style to make you look perfect in your final images. I am going home that night to spend many hours editing those photos, removing blemishes, blogging about your session, and going the extra mile for my clients. I spend many hours perfecting your images to create a unique gallery that truly makes my clients’ personalties shine through; a gallery that will preserve an incredibly important memory in your lifetime.
NEWBORN SESSION
Checklist for Parents Have any hats, bows, headbands, blankets, props, family heirlooms or other items you may want in the shots ready. My studio willl be kept warm to keep your baby comfy when they are nakie for photos. Your baby will usually have their clothes off for most of the session so it needs to be extra warm. You should wear lightweight breathable clothing since it will be very warm where we are shooting. White looks the best for the white timeless feel, and I have some dresses and shirts if you would like to wear any of my studio wardrobe for your session. I prefer moms, dads and siblings to be in the photos connectiong with the new baby so please have nails trimmed and clean. Turn down phones or any other distractions during the photo shoot., but they can be great for entertaining older siblings! Have some water from the studio fridge‌newborn sessions make you thirsty!! I also have coffee, gatorade, chips, and snacks you can enjoy during the session. Before feeding baby, put them in a white onsesie, that is how I prefer to start the session, clean and simple. Feed baby approximately a half-hour before session is scheduled to begin. It is imperative that baby is well fed and burped. You can also feed after we get a few images of them streaching on the beanbag for photos : )

How long will my portrait session be?
Newborns usually take betwee1.5-2 hours. We will start with them in a simple white onesie, and move on to doing parent and sibling photos. Then wrap your baby getting some photos on the beanbag and a few more family photos.
