FURNACE INSTALLATION, SERVICE, AND REPAIR FAQS Bluflame Heating Cooling and Duct Cleaning Services

How long does a furnace last?

Most furnaces will last between 15 and 20 years, and some newer units are lasting longer. It all depends on how much you use your furnace and how well you take care of it. We recommend scheduling yearly furnace maintenance to keep it operating as it should.

What does routine furnace maintenance include? Our routine maintenance follows ACCA’s globally recognized standards to ensure a thorough inspection and cleaning of the air filter, blower motor, and other parts that can slow your HVAC system down. In addition, our technicians scan the system top to bottom to identify the problem and identify any related parts that may be close to failure.

What are the signs that my furnace is failing?

When a furnace fails, you may see a rise in your heating bills, tend to call for more frequent repairs, notice the house isn’t heating evenly, or hear loud noises, rusting, or breaking when the furnace is working to heat your home.

How much is a new furnace? Since every homeowner’s need are different, the price depends on the type of furnace, its efficiency, the energy source, size, and how long it will take to install in your home. To schedule an installation or speak to a representative, call Bluflame at (419) 472-2040.

How often should I change my filter? When filled with dust and debris, the filter causes your furnace to work harder than necessary to keep your home warm, which could result in higher energy bills. We recommend replacing your filter once a month to ensure your HVAC unit is functioning correctly.

The “Two Stage” describes the heating output of a furnace. A two stage furnace comes on at “low fire”, or about 70% of it’s capacity. In case of two stage furnace, on the mild days, the first or “low fire” stage will do most all the heating, then on the colder days the second or “high fire” stage steps in and provides the maximum heat to satisfy the heating demand.

What is a Two Stage Furnace?

What Is a Variable Speed Furnace? The variable speed furnace features a high efficient motor that actually converts your homes AC voltage to DC, in turn greatly reducing your electrical consumption for heating and cooling.
