Olivier Dubois-Cherrier

French-born, Olivier Dubois-Cherrier is an artist who expresses himself through painting, sculpture, photography, installation and poetry. The Caribbean crossed origins of his mother brought Olivier Dubois-Cherrier to place his roots in himself, assuming his nomadism as a quest and not like a runaway. He likes to think about the notion of the island -where he has spent most time of his life- in term of geopolitical space as well as of philosophic and psychological state. The natural limits of the island such as banks, horizons, oppositions and demarcations become for the artist metaphors of the difficulty for the modern man to live harmoniously.
