Participation team sports Basketball boys and girls • The best eight (or seven*) countries from the European Championships, division A, U16 will be invited. These tournaments are played in the second part of July 2012 (Lithuania and Hungary). • In September 2012 the NOCs will be informed officially about the participation. • *The Netherlands, as the hosting nation, will have one boys and girls team even if not among the top 8 of the European Championships. Handball boys and girls • The best eight (or seven*) teams of the ranking at the end of the competitions mentioned below. For each gender there will be three substitutes. • Competition girls: W18 European Open Championships, 1994 and younger (Sweden) and U18 World Championships, 1994 and younger (Montenegro). These tournaments are played: W18 European Open Championships 02/06 July 2012 and U18 World Championships16/28 August 2012. • Competition boys: M18 European Championships, 1994 and younger (Austria). This tournament is played on 12/22 July 2012. • In October 2012 the NOCs will be informed officially about the participation. • *The Netherlands, as the hosting nation, will have one boys and girls team even if not ranked within the best eight teams at the end of their respective competitions. Volleyball boys and girls • The best eight (or seven*) teams from the youth European Championships. If a qualified NOC cannot participate the next ranked team can compete. • The age categories of the youth European Championships do not correspond totally with the age categories fixed for the EYOF. • These tournaments are played for the boys in Serbia/Bosnia Herzegovina and for the girls in Serbia/Montenegro. Both are played in the period between 29 March and 21 April 2013. • In April 2013 the NOCs will be informed officially about the participation. • *The Netherlands, as the hosting nation, will have one boys and girls team even if not among the top 8 of the youth European Championships.
