We can’t have a new sport if we rely on old stars. We need the best drivers in the world and they need somewhere to race as they’re growing. Until we introduced Lites, Rallycross was the only motorsport without a professional development platform. Now, as we graduate champions to the next level of competition, we’re already seeing how it works. — Andreas Eriksson, Olsbergs MSE CEO
2012
OMSE again scores the Global Rallycross Championship title with driver Tanner Foust. He returns to Europe for a partial season on the European Rallycross Championship and finishes third.
2012
Andreas Eriksson pushes to create a development series to support and discover new talent in rallycross. He and his design team innovate the new OMSE Lites race vehicle, and he partners with Avitas Motorsport in Turkey for construction.

DRIVERS
Cultivating future stars is a core value for OMSE and its driver roster has become increasingly focused on younger drivers in recent years. In the 2015 season, the youngest championship contender on the roster is just 16 – barely old enough to drive a car on the street. OMSE is the only racing organization in the world to campaign full seasons in Supercars and Lites in both World RX and Red Bull GRC, while also fielding a toptier national effort in Sweden.

SPECIAL PROJECTS
1
More than a motorsport operation, OMSE engages with partners to develop special automotive projects that support marketing and communications initiatives. 1. PEAK PERFORMANCE In support of global launch activities surrounding the Ford Fiesta, Olsbergs MSE partnered with Ford for a campaign on the famed Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. OMSE designed and built a pair of heavily modified, 900-horsepower Ford Fiesta cars for the project, which Ford supported with a considerable promotional push – including a remake of the classic “Climb Dance” short film starring team driver and two-time World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm. It was a first motorsports outing for the Fiesta in the United States and it was a resounding success: the car was a contender in its U.S. debut and Grönholm finished second overall. The partnership would later grow to include X Games and rallycross efforts in the United States.
2. NEW PLATFORM IN 90 DAYS When U.S. auto manufacturer Chrysler was considering an entrée into rallycross in support of their new Dodge Dart launch, they turned to OMSE with a three-month turnaround and asked what could be done to turn their new sedan into a rallycross machine. OMSE agreed to the project, with the blessing of partner Ford, and worked closely with Chrysler’s U.S. engineers to accelerate development. The team produced a winning car for Travis Pastrana to drive in the 2012 and 2013 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship seasons. Pastrana drove the new Dodge Dart rallycross car to a podium at its first race.

RALLYCROSS
Modern rallycross is inspired by the longstanding European tradition, which began in February, 1967, with a made-forTV short-course variation on traditional rally competition. Described as “action sport, with a roll cage,” the rapidly growing sport is a blend of circuit racing, off-road racing and rally competition. It promises intense crowd-pleasing action in a fan-friendly track environment. As many as 10 drivers line up to start at once, piloting highhorsepower compact cars through race traffic over a challenging short course that features jumps, unbanked turns, hills and transitions between pavement and gravel.
Events are held on a mix of purposebuilt dirt and tarmac tracks, as well as on temporary circuits that are designed and built for each race. The incredible diversity of past venues speaks the potential of the sport to bring motorsport to eager audiences around the world. In recent years, Olsbergs MSE has competed at a century-old logging mill in the U.S. Pacific Northwest, in the sport’s spiritual homeland of Lydden Hill in southeast England, at the famed Hockenheimring, and on the Las Vegas strip.
THE WINNING FORMULA
Olsbergs MSE’s proven track record and global reach make it the ideal partner for companies exploring a rallycross campaign. With industry leading capabilities in engineering and construction, along with an eye for the best young talent in the world, Olsbergs MSE is in the best position to bring a new platform to the podium in record time.
