CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION & GAMES 2015. LUNGI What a splendid day! CHRISTMAS IS ALWAY NICE TO CELEBRATE. Obviously, people from all walks of life across the globe celebrate Christmas today. Don Bosco Youth centre was fully packed with children from different religious denominations. Children were given opportunity to showcase their talents. WE had mini Olympic games for four days before Christmas. Football galas for all categories. Presentations like Drama, dancing, miming, singing, and poems were skilfully and joyfully displayed by children. We also reached out to children from the nearby villages, such as Tagrin and Madina. At the end, Christmas message was given to the children and gifts were distributed to the kids by the Santa Claus with a Christmas smile. We gave 850 Christmas gifts. Our target was mainly on poor children. we are grateful to God for His Gifts such as Second hand cloths, toys, books, sweets and benevolence. biscuits, rice, medicated soap were given to them. Indeed, I am also planning to go to villages a bit far from us. Those villages are very very poor they cut off from civilization. I want to send message that God loves them and remember them and send them some small gifts as well. SERGEI. SDB.

GOD'S FOOTPRINT Am I more fortunate? It’s the question I often asked myself. I would have been more fortunate if I were not to die, but it’s for . would be the luckiest when I live in a place without difficulty but its every where. But woe to me if I fail to affirm that I am fortunate because in 20 mins on bicycle i can go to pray in the basilica of Mary Help. God’s footprints are so evident. This should help me to grow in faith but it’s not automatic. Man can see God and doubts that that is God .my point is that seeing is believing but it’s not always the case. Therefore, I am so fortunate as I presumed to be. God’s footprints are everywhere. The journey towards God much more than what the eyes can see ,requires what our eyes can’t see , much more than external impulses, requires internal energy. ...the will. Therefore, I am not so fortunate as I presumed to be. God’s footprints are everywhere. The journey towards God much more than what the eyes can see requires what our eyes cannot see. Much more than external impulses, requires internal energy.........the will Even without you seeing it believe it that was with this man called Don Bosco. Buona festa! !!

DB TECH ODUMASI @ 20 Day 1 The Lord once said: “ When you do good, let not your left hand know what your right hand is doing!” But in our days when evil is pronounced with highest appellations, the children of God must also show forth the works of God with the highest expressions of gratitude, a stunning sense of hope and a force of passion. For Christ also said: “He who claims me before men, I will also claim before my father and the angels.” To this end, the DBTI Odumase rolled out the drums to mark the 20th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Institute. The week-long events which began on Monday 1st Feb 2016 began with a ‘Floating Fun-Trek’ right from the heart of the Sunyani Town; the COCOBOD Post Office and led through the Sunyani municipality into Odumase Town and back to the Institute. Marked by funfare, cheers, music and led by the Principal Fr. Mark Anthony Okpala SDB, the trek ignited cheers and excitement among the people of the Town. The spread of joy so characteristic of Don Bosco, effortlessly spread over all as teachers and students lived the spirit of joy and vigor of the spirit of Don Bosco.
Day 2
In keeping with an age long wisdom, the students of DBTI, on the second day of the celebration, which was earmarked for cleaning exercises, began the good job from home. Charity truly begins at home as the compound got thoroughly sanitised with attention also to other previously unattended sides. Thus, equipped, they took to the streets of Odumase town, cleaning, sweeping and clearing the drainage systems. And one distinctive element about the exercise was the lightheartedness on the part of both teachers and students who joyously did the cleaning. Indeed, Don Bosco couldn’t have asked for a better disposition. Let us serve the Lord in holy joy!!
Day 3 As is characteristic of every Salesian oratorian setting, Games and entertainment play a great part in animations. On the third of the one week drive of celebrations, DBTI hosted two neighbouring technical schools; Chiraa Technical Senior High School Chiraa and St Vitus Technical School Baakoniaba Sunyani. The games were played between male and female teams of both the visiting schools and the host. The games lasted until evening and ended with light refreshments. Yet, another aim of Don Bosco stands achieved, bringing young people together in a spirit of joy and sharing. It was a memorable day!
Day 4
It is no play that Don Bosco insisted that he had three things to offer young people: Bread, Work and Heaven. And the first of these three is Bread. This was to underpin his understanding of the need for good bodily health. At DBTI, the celebration took a novel dimension with a cooking competition among the different departments coordinated by the nascent Catering Department. Staff and students appeared in neat apparels to prepare dishes which they had chosen earlier on. And since no one is lazy when it is time to eat, you can tell the students were well into it too....
Day 5
The final page of the celebration came to an end on a very colorful beginning with a Holy Mass at 9:00am. After the Holy Mass, there was the Durbar colored by cultural dances, poems, Lectures, Talks and a reunion of all past pupils. The grand conclusion of the celebrations was graced with a drama titled: ‘Dilemma of a Ghost’, performed by students of the Institute at 7:00pm and was attended by many people; young and old from Odumase Town. Celebrations could not really be much more fun! It was GRAND!
