Trails and Trailheads

With more than 40 miles of recreational trails, including the Keystone/Bellevue Loop and the Fontenelle Forest trails, Bellevue is perfect for walking, biking and rollerblading. Bike trails in Bellevue connect to the trails of the greater Omaha metro area.

Fontenelle Nature Association

American Heroes Park

At American Heroes Park, the fountain lights up the night sky enhancing one of Bellevue’s greatest outdoor spaces. The fishing pier on the 10-acre man-made lake is a great location for perfecting your casting technique. At the back of the park, a 1.5-mile nature trail is ideal for viewing local wildlife. A War on Terror Memorial was added in 2018.

Bellevue Little Theatre

Volunteers have made Bellevue Little Theatre, founded in 1968, a recognized name. For the first eight years, the community theater staged its shows at restaurants and schools. Today, it’s a consistent winner of Theatre Arts Guild awards. In 1977, the board purchased and renovated the 244-seat, 1940s-era Roxy movie theater building in Olde Towne. In 1992, the adjacent building was purchased for dressing rooms.

Gifford Farms

This 400-acre working farm provides outdoor education and activities with hands-on experience in a natural setting. A working farm since the 1800s, it is believed that the Lewis & Clark Expedition camped on the grounds of what today is cropland. Sarpy County Earth Day Events APRIL 22 TO MAY 22

The Sarpy County Earth Day celebration provides community members of all ages a chance to learn about caring for the environment. Hosted by Green Bellevue, the day will feature a Student Project Showcase with Bellevue West showcasing a project on composting and zero waste. The day will include a variety of speakers, artwork and zoo academy.

Nebraska’s Official Veterans Parade NOVEMBER 5

Each November, patriotism invades Mission Avenue in Olde Towne Bellevue for Nebraska’s Official Veterans Parade. The tribute honors representatives of most military branches, along with veterans from recent wars and conflicts. The morning is filled with patriotic pride.
