OROVILLE – The second in a series of economic round table discussions will be held at the Oroville Grange, 622 Fir St., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20. According to organizer and Grange Master Joseph Enzensperger, the discussion on city revitalization will be broken into five topic areas: Wood products, revitalization of Main Street, local food producers, outdoor, and service contractors. will join “Participants discussion groups around the above mentioned topic areas,” Enzensperger said. “Individuals may participate in one or more groups.”

The morning discussions will focus on sharing individual’s ideas on what is possible or needed in north county. This will be a chance to meet others sharing your interests or ideas. “All Ideas will be recorded and included in the minutes of each group,” he said. “Everyone is important in these discussions.” A noon break for a soup and salad lunch is planned followed by a second session from 12:302:30 pm. In the afternoon sessions we will work to develop strategies
for implementing the ideas developed from the morning Round Table. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Small, non-farm businesses in Okanogan and 17 other counties have until Feb. 24 to apply for U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loans for economic injury. The low-interest loans are designed to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues cause by the drought that began April 28, 2015, in the primary disaster counties of Adams, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Grant, Klickitat, Walla Walla and Yakima. Neighboring counties included in the declaration are Douglas, Garfield, King, Kittitas, Lewis, Lincoln,
have suffered agricultural production losses caused by the disaster and businesses directly impacted by the disaster. Assistance is available regardless of whether the applicant suffered any property damage. The interest rate is 4 percent for businesses and 2.625 percent for private, nonprofit organizations with terms up to 30 years. Loan amounts and terms are set by SBA and are based on each applicant’s financial condition. Businesses primarily engaged in farming or ranching are not eligible for disaster assistance.
