INSTITUTE FOR NON-OCULAR EDUCATION,AWARNESS & RESEARCH THESIS: Location: Hakikat Nagar,New Delhi Site Area: 5.6 Acre Total Built-Up Area: 20,000m2 FAR:0.8 Ground Coverage:50%
ABOUT THE PROJECT: It is one of a kind institutional facility focuing on the holistic growth and integration of the visually impaired into the society. The institution is an amalmagation of Resource centre and Prepartory school model. The institute comprises of three blocks : 1. Educational wing 2. Residential wing 3. Research wing The design is driven by universal design and aided through multi sensory environment. The same is demonstrated in the planning , circulation , materiality and Facade system used. It will help them develop cognitive skills and lntegrate them with the society as the institiute will only act as an aid and not like a full ventialator type of a support system which makes them dependent . Thus these individuals will break free from the vicious cycle and become a source of inspiration and guiding light for the society.

SINGLE SPINE AXIS:
2
MASS DITRIBUTION:
3
FORM:
3
The site has a single edge for acessing it, i.e. through the road side. This leads to creating a strong single spine axis running through out the site and connecting to the Najaf Garh nala.
As the single spine runs throughout the site small branches connect the various functions as part of secondary circulation. The Vehicular movement and parking is restricted to the active edge. The placement of built mass and functions is done according to the site context.
The form is derived by keeping in mind the multi sensory environment for which connection between the internal and external environment is important. Thus creating voids in the mass. The vertical circulation in all the builidings is through exterior ramps.

FACADE DETAIL: The various modules of the jaali are derived from the braille alphabhets for bringing in light and making it tactile as well. The modules are used in accordance of the amount of light required in the building . Thus making the opacity and transparency of the jaali controlable. The size of one module is 500X300mm.

FACADE DETAIL: These panels are also inpired from the braille language .The filled portion (black dots) can be of different materials as per need and the white ones are made into an opening for letting in the light to pass through. Thus honing the perceptual and conceptual knowledge of the users and control the light coming in.The size of one panel is 1500mmX1500mm.

THE WALK HOUSING : Partner:Simrat Singh Location: Phase 3,Gurugram,New Delhi Site Area: 8.5 acre Total Built-Up Area: 58,440m2 FSI:2.5 Ground Coverage:30% No. of Floors: 25
ABOUT THE PROJECT: As the name of the project suggests “The Walk” , the intent of the project was to cater to the city based theme through a public realm and revitilsation of the moulsari avenue rapid metro station. City based theme here means taking something from the city and giving something back to the city. The same is done through taking into account the master re-development plan of DLF phase-3 and taking into consideration the future upcoming projects within the vicinity. The project also aims at reinventing the vertical high rise and to address a city level issue of lack of open green spaces and community places, which is prevalent in the urban fabric of Gurugram.

CONCEPT: The rational behind providing green spill over spaces at upper floors through staggering after unifrom intervals was to : 1.Humanise the scale of the buildings through greens and landscaping. Thus creating micro interactive zones at different levels. 2.To address to the city level issue of lack of open green spaces and community places, which is prevalent in the urban fabric of Gurugram.

THE MEANDER
MIXED USE Location: WTC Sector 29,Gurugram Site Area: 7.4 acre Total built-up area: 36,790m2 FSI:1.2 Ground coverage:30%
ABOUT THE PROJECT: As the name of the project suggests “The Meander” ,the intent of the intervention was to explore place making and social value of mixed use development in Gurugram .This was done through the lense of walkibility catering to the diverse demographic groups of sector 29 and there different needs. Enhancing connection with the nearby transit hubs which will help in promotions of outdoor activities as well as creating a connection with the park at masterplan level. Thus making this patch of sector-29 safer 24x7. This will result in diversifying and densifying the site as it will help in retaining the old user group.(i.e.of friday prayer goers, people who use the site as a playground). This approach was undertaken to give something back to the city and create an interactive mixed use hub where there are no boundaries and restrictions on different demographic groups.

MASSING CONCEPT

THE SITE:
2
MASS PLACEMENT:
3
FORM & SITE LAYOUT:
19
The site has 3 active edges for acess. This makes the site more permiable and helps in categorizing vehicular, pedestrian movements and various pick up and drop -off areas w.r.t the context.
The mass on the site is placed w.r.t to the context and placed along transit pick-up and drop off zones. Thus making the space walkable and easy to acess. A main axis to the park is created which becomes the main plaza and the hub for interaction.
The site is made porous with multiple entries and exits connected through the through fares and avenues .Thus creating a visual connect between different zones and also making the comlex more walkable by giving opportunity to plan more functions and activities between two different zones of the site.

A)M-HOSTEL THAPAR UNIVERSITY: INSTITUTIONAL HOUSING: Location:Patiala,Punjab,India Architects: 1.DPA,New Delhi 2.MCM,Ireland
ABOUT THE PROJECT: M-hostel is the second phase of designing and construction of the Thapar university hostel blocks cluster.Currently 4 blocks are functional of the total 6. The Student residences are conceived as one anchor of the overall masterplan, linked to the Learning Centre by a shaded walkway which connects the main teaching buildings of the campus. The new 2 blocks are further developed iterations of the previous blocks but with the same architectural language and materiality. The hostel blocks are connected by an elevated garden podium which shades the public spaces and pavilions beneath from the intense heat of the Indian sun. Each of the blocks contains generous double height and inter-locking social spaces on all floors while all bedrooms have access to a private sun-screened balcony. Thus creating a micro habitat where students can interact and engage in activties freely and easily go about there routines.

ABOUT THE PROJECT: “The Nest” is a landscape design project for a private residence. The terrace garden has great commanding views of the array of big trees and greens of the farmhouses and villas around. The brief from the client was clear from the inception of the project which was as follows: i) A space for relaxing and lounging + to host small get to togethers. ii)Ample space for circulation and evening walks. iii)Minimal Design but with some pop of colors. iv)Privacy from the neighboring home. The same was responded with a Sophiticated minimal design and pop of colors to make the terrace garden lively and cheerful. The circulation space was top most priorty and as a response to that the planters were planned along the walls and which also gave enough privacy from the neighboring house.A sense of warmth and comfort was achieved through warm ambient lighting. A sense of rythm and coehsivness was also achieved through the artistic compistion of birds and the orange profile light housing unit panel as a mountain on the panel walls .
