AL-BAGOUR CULTURAL COMPLEX

DESCRIPTION

It aims to transform the old Al-Dur area in the middle of Al-bagour-city into a socio-cultural center that addresses two major problems : illiteracy and lack of identity , reviving customs and traditions, and raising the new generation, which has a great positive impact on society, and exploits the presence of heritage buildings with historical value, and the need to preserve them.

Main Lay out

Design Concept

The idea is based on creating an axis (simulatsts the concept of the elharah) for the project linking the Dyer Elnahyah road in the district and Shazliya Street linking all the elements of the cultural complex project , starting from the family homes area through the cultural part to the Shazliya mosque, and it is called Haret Qandil.

Abandoning the idea of a single building and vertical and dividing activities into separate blocks linked in the middle by a group of covered pedestrian paths giving the feeling that they are one block.

Using local building materials and developing construction systems to achieve the highest efficiency at the lowest cost, taking into account the climatic conditions and the rural culture of social participation.

VISION

Located in. The project will be the first of its kind that applies a full comprehensive passive matrix for cooling and ventilation. The matrix is utilizing a combination of three natural systems, and it will cover all the internal spaces of the building. the project balances experimental design methods with traditions, cultural context, and locally available construction skills, materials, and knowledge.
