I'm in love with the design. I studied industrial design and product development engineering in Spain, and while I was making my studies I realised how big the world of design was. I couldn't simply focus on one expertise, so I decided to learn more about graphic design and packaging design. Nowadays, I still keep learning about these 2 amazing branches of design while I keep improving my product design skills. Apart from my design expertise, I also consider myself an amateur photographer and a wood crafter. I learnt the basics of wood crafting from my father, who also started to work with wood as a hobby and I learnt about photography like everybody else in the 21st century, with the help of YouTube and books. The self-learning that I've been doing for the last 3 years and the results obtained in this period of time show that I am a creative, responsible and independent person. My youth doesn't stop me from facing challenges, and my recent experience in a start-up company helps me adapt quickly to dynamic work environments.

Seekios This is a project that I made for the start-up companyThings of Tomorrow. My main goal was to redesign a small GPS tracker that helps locate children, pets and elderly people as well as your personal objects like the car or bike. GPS trackers have already existed for at least 8 years. In spite of that, this product will try to make itself a place in this industry by being the best among all the other competitors. It is intended to have 7 different use modes which the user will be able to choose with an application in their smartphone and unlike other competitors, this product wants to be created with a big battery autonomy in mind. Due to being a Start-Up company, the money resources were not big. New investors had to be found each month in order to continue developing the project and if that wasn’t enough, the team had to answer to the investors’ wills, doubts or opinions. Conceiving a product under such circumstances was not easy, thereby causing constant delays and changes in the products. A total of 10 different versions of the Seekios were made, here the latest version will only be presented.

Acris This is a team project that I made for the University of Mondragon in my 3rd year. The context of this project is focused on the excessive water consumption that is currently happening on our planet. Based on that, after making a market analysis, the team decided to create a product where the user would be concerned about the water consumption that they are making, and therefore make the society understand one thing: water is a valuable resource that mustn’t be wasted. We wanted to concern people about the previously mentioned situation, and in order to achieve that, we thought that the best way was by urban furniture. We evaluated and analysed the types of street furniture and concluded that the best way of concerning people was by using a fountain. To conclude, we went one step further and we designed a message. In this fountain, the important thing is not the fountain by itself but the floor attached to it. The floor emulates the roots of a tree. The whole system is lighted up by LED stripes, and the more water you consume in this fountain, the less light will the roots have.

Tutu This is a team project that I made for the University of Mondragon also in my 3rd year. Compared to the project of the previous page, this one wasn’t intended to send a message. We had to create an urban vegetable garden kit. In other words, we had to create a kit which contained the basic things to build a vegetable garden in your balcony. We had to stablish a user, the type of house that this user would live in, the objects that we thought any vegetable garden kit should have and the moodboards of the materials, textures and feelings that the buyer should feel when they bought our product. We decided to include a goal in our product. New technologies have taken all of our time nowadays; kids spend more time taking care of their virtual farms than living these experiences in real life. So why not create a game where parents and kids can leave mobile and tablet applications aside and start a journey in horticulture? Apart from being able of building your own vegetable garden, we wanted to reunite the family. We wanted to create a product for families. For people who want to expend time together. People who want to learn and teach. Once the product was created we had to stablish a brand identity. We created a logo based on 4 factors: family, ecologic, didactic and fun.

Wood boxes These 2 boxes were a personal project that I made for one friend of mine. One on my biggest passions is carpentry and DIY stuff. I really enjoy building something or creating something in order to give it to someone because you know that there’s nothing like that in the whole world. I know that once I’ve finished building it, it’s going to be unique because I didn’t just go to a store and buy it. I invested my time and I had to squish my brain to make my idea possible. The idea of the tool box came from thinking that as well and carpenters and mechanics have their own tool boxes… Why shouldn’t someone who has lots of crayons, pencils and markers have a specific box for them too? And the nail polish box came from thinking that lots of this nail polish organizers are made of plastic, and they aren’t actually quite beautiful. So why not make one nail polish organizer which is actually beautiful? Both of the boxes are made of wood, built and hand painted by myself.

Peliqueiro mask This is another personal project which mixes both graphic design and carpentry. For this project I had the help of my father. He carved and painted the wood, and I made the design of the tiger and hand painted it in the mask. Before continuing, I’ll explain why this mask. This mask is part of a traditional Carnival costume that people wear in Laza, Galicia. The Carnival of Laza, known as “Entroido de Laza” is one of the oldest festivities in Spain which gathers thousands of people every year. The masks name is Peliqueiro. And people wear this mask and the costume during one day of the carnival. Local people don’t consider this a costume, being able to wear the costume is something that you must feel and that you must respect. My father was born in this village, and in order to respect his culture and get to know it a little bit better we decided to start this project in common. In the following page you can see both of the results, the computer design and the mask design.

Breaking Bad poster This is another personal project which I really enjoyed working in. It has already been 5 years since I started watching this TV series that completely caught my curiosity for the very first episode. I started watching this series when the 3rd season had just started to be broadcasted and in 2 weeks I had already caught up the 3rd season. The way it was recorded, the dialogs, the story, the interpretation, the music... Everything was absolutely perfect in this series. 3 years later, the series would reach to an end that left me with a really good taste in my mouth but at the same time a little bit empty. It is just in that moment when I decided to start practicing with Adobe Illustrator. Back then I still didn’t have a graphic tablet and I didn’t know all the potential of the Adobe tool neither, so in this picture, due to my lack of knowledge, I made all the triangles one by one, trying to keep the space between them as similar as possible. It is only know when I know how I could have done it easier, but I really enjoyed every single aspect of this project. The reason why I chose to make irregular triangle shapes and the blue colours of her face is because I was trying to express two things: his personality and the characteristic drug that Mr. Heisenber creates and deals in this series.

Film hats As you might have guessed this is another personal project. I’ve always liked hats, and I’ve always been fascinated of how much a hat can say of a film or series character. That’s exactly the reason why I started developing this project. I picked 20 hats which have been part of my childhood, adolescence and mid-adult and I tried to express them with the less quantity of colours and in the simplest way possible. Can you guess the films or characters they belong to? In case you want to know them all, the solution in bellow.

Crocodile Dundee, New York Gangs (Bill “The Butcher”), Apocalypse Now (Lt. Col. Kilgore), Kill Bill Breaking Bad (Heisenberg), The Cat in the Hat, Great Gatsby, Charles Chaplin Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland (The Hatter), Ghostbusters (The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man), X-Men (Magneto), Indiana Jones Harry Potter (Sorting Hat), The Wizard of Oz (Tin Woodman), A Clockwork Orange (Alex DeLarge), Star Wars (Luke Skywalker) Gladiator (Máximo Décimo Meridio), The Mask, Sherlock Holmes, Robin Hood

Sabores logo & brand Over the last 2 years I’ve had the chance to make lots of logos and brand identities for different companies, events and persons. In the next page I’ll just explain and show one of them, but in case you want to know more of my other logo designs you can check my Behance or personal webpage (you will be able to find the addresses in the last page of this portfolio). This is the first logo that I ever made. It was a team project for Mondragon University where we had to design a logo for the EtiopiaUtopia Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to provide humanitarian aid and assist in the development cooperation in of Wukro and by extension the region of Tigray (Ethiopia). In order to start the logo design, the team first looked up the principles of the EtiopiaUtopia Foundation. We identified union, familiarity and cooperation as the most important aspects of the foundation. We wanted to reflect these principles in our logo but also Wukros and Ethiopia’s gastronomy. The final design is based on a traditional Ethiopian dish.

HUB design This is a team project that I made for ESTIA. In my internship in ESTIA I learned almost as much as in my 4 years of studies thanks to the work environment and projects that I was given the chance to work in. I worked in a research department in which I was able to develop further my abilities as graphic designer, service designer and experience designer. For this project in particular my Erasmus colleagues and I were given the chance to work with the former Orbea France designer Ronan Bariou. The idea of the project was to develop a Creative Room (or HUB) for the ESTIA students. This has been by far one of the most important projects that I’ve worked in due to one reason: it was the first time that I was going to apply everything I learned in the university in real life. In order to develop this project properly we followed the Double Diamond Diagram. According to this diagram, we first made had to discover (room and trend analysis). Then we had to define (room functions and moodboards). After that we had to develop (concept work spaces and furniture). And finally deliver (painting, furniture and purchase).

Serious Game For my final year dissertation in the University of Mondragon i was assigned an Erasmus in France, in France. Here, I was given the task of developing a Serious Game based on System Dynamics and Sustainable Development. As my knowledge in making videogames was null I took an online course to help me in this task. I also took an online course in System Dynamics in order to be able to understand and develop and example. The games has two goals. The first one is to make people understand the social, economic and resource situation. To achieve this, the player starts playing the game as a “Rich man”. The goal of this man will be to take as much as he can in the level. The player will abuse of the natural and fossil fuels, and he will lead humanity to a global pollution. From that moment on the player will play as “Pollution”. This character will make use of all the fossil fuels to destroy the remaining things. As fossil fuels are consumables, this character will run out of it and by consequence die; leaving the last character known as “Hippie”, where he will be forced to create a world without technology. Once the main gameplay is finished the player will be able to play the same level as a 4th player, which will be a mix between “Rich man” and “Hippie” and his goal will be to play the level again taking the right decisions towards technological improvement and environment.
