THE WELCOMING
THE PROMENADING SPINE Morning
C
onfident, the promenade filters through Queen Street to Quay Street. The constant humdrum of commuters are a back-
ground dialogue to this altruistic laneway. Lined with the finest cafes and bars it has a perpetual appetite for occupation.
The Aromas of freshly brewed coffee and pastries waft eagerly to be drunk and eaten. Patched green areas allow for picnic and bean bag areas. Shared cobbled streets are lined with umbrellas and rustic wooden seats.
Partitioned lucrative retail awaits in the wings: elaborate yet modest. Evaporation of the fading footprints on the brick pavement allude to the setting.
THE PROMENADE
THE PROMENADING SPINE Midnight
A
s the light recedes behind the ocean. The clang of glasses and cutlery are a common sound. Consumption of wines
and delicacies satisfy those through till the morning.
The picnic grass areas transition into an outdoor cinema. Diffuse light falls onto the pavements revealing the delicate texture of the pavement leading towards the hushed sea.
