Using the site as both the connector and destination. Gathering spaces that cultivate a sense of community whilst simultaneously shaping the trajectory of our site to water. Thus developing the proposed site as both connector and destination. RIVER PATH DIAGRAM SCALE: 1:10000
Idea of landscape providing an organisational structure for future buildings to cluster around. Using the landscape as a connective tissue. Green spaces and pedestrian pathways deconstruct the linear nature of the old spine. As such, it becomes less of a place to pass through and more of a place for contemplation and discussion. Shaping the spaces in between.
1. creating approximate height envelope
3. distorting pathway to centralise it
2. Exisiting pedestrian/ cycling route from Cox’s bay to Gery Lynn park
4. Addition of shared roadway through site, to provide parking access
5. Reduction of southern boundary in particular.
6. establishing cultural zone on pathway at Richmond road edge. 7. establishing retail along Richmond road and around the culture center and pedestrian throughway to catalyse greater public inhabitation and increase retail intensity.
8. Establishing Residential areas above retail strip. 9. Establishing 3-story apartment blocks at edge to blend into the surrounding urban tissue.
9. Breaking up remaining bulk into duplex apartment blocks.

Athens, Harry.C.Bougadellis Associate Architects, Georges Batzios, Martha These images show the kind of mixed pedestrian/green space/car usage that we envision for the central path through our site
Flensburg, ADEPT The scale and relationship to communal outdoor areas are relevant to our site. Explorations between the building and the landscape.
Wynyard Quarter, Architectus The typology, density and relationship to the surrounding area of these units has relevance to what we are proposing on the Grey Lynn site. The variation in height is also of interest, as this is what we are proposing with our residential units on site, relating to different types of density.
