Stronger Now ministry was established in September of 2016 by the Torres Family after the loss of thier six-year-old daughter Gabriella to a rare form of brain cancer called diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, or as it’s known in the medical community, DIPG. Our focus is to share her story and the incredible journey of grace, miracles and share testimonies of God’s goodness in the midst our journey. Our goal is to help share the message of hope in Christ Jesus in the midst of tremendous trials. Our family has also created a foundation to honor our daughter and to help support families financially that have been afflicted with this deadly disease. Gabriella’s Smile Foundation was CREATED on March 30, 2016 in honor of our beautiful six-year-old daughter Gabriella Elise, who so courageously and bravely fought DIPG, an inoperable brain stem tumor, for almost eight months. She smiled every single day and never once complained about having a brain tumor. The incredible support from our family, local community, church, and other DIPG families and foundations, helped us through the difficult journey that began on March 17, 2015, and ended too soon on November 7, 2015. It was this support that inspired our family to establish a foundation to help other families affected by DIPG in the United States and families of children pediatric brain cancer here in San Antonio, Texas. It is often said that no one fights cancer alone and we believe that families are stronger together. We believe it is this support that helps make us and other families STRONGER than DIPG. Church Ministries and Discipleship Here are a couple of events that we are looking forward to sharing with each of you. We want to connect with each Children’s Pastor in the South Texas District. If we don’t have your Children’s Pastors information, please let us know. We want to be a resource for them. Kids Camp is coming fast! It’s never too early to start planning. We are excited to have a team of our South Texas District Children’s Pastors as well at National BGMC Directors, David and Mary Boyd. Visit our website: www.stxagchurchministries.org for more information.
The 2016/2017 JBQ Season is off to an incredible start!! We have more teams and more churches participating. We had close to 150 in attendance at our last meet and know of more churches that will be joining us in 2017. It’s just amazing watching the kids learn the Word a God in such a unique and effective manor! Contact Shae: churchministries@stxag.org if you would like some more information about JBQ.
