f you’re a regular commuter on the tube or overland train in London then you’ll no doubt have spotted the numerous scenic snaps of Kent that have been splashed over billboards and digital advertising platforms since early summer. It’s the work of the tourist organisation Visit Kent who are calling on capital dwellers and commuters across the South East to come and sample the ‘exotic fruits of the Garden of England.’

Housebuilder Persimmon said the property market took the snap General Election ‘in its stride’ as the firm racked up another set of rising sales. In a half-year trading update they said revenue grew 12% to £1.66 billion, with the average price of its homes growing 3.5% to around £213,000.
