Company faces online shaming following email interview fiasco The reputation of a small ventilation company has been left in tatters this week after an insulting email chain that was accidentally sent to a job applicant, made national headlines. Anna Jacobs (pictured), from Horsmonden, had applied for an office administrator position at Tecomak Environmental Services, based in Hadlow Road, Tonbridge. The company invited her along for an interview by sending her an email. However, attached to the formal response was a series of derogatory comments meant only for internal distribution. Among the comments was a suggestion any interview would only be worth the business’s time ‘for a laugh’. Speaking to the BBC Ms Jacobs said she was ‘furious’ at the ‘absolutely awful summary’, which read: “Home educated oddball. Can’t get a job since leaving uni. Forages for mushrooms. “Difficult to assess from her CV - might be very good but equally could be a biscuit short of a packet or a left-wing loon tree hugger.” The story went viral becoming

Town grieves death of ‘down to earth’ and ‘caring’ barber after bike crash By Murray Jones newsdesk@timesoftonbridge.co.uk TRIBUTES have poured in for a popular young Tonbridge barber who was killed on Sunday (May 14) when the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with a car near Crowborough. Josh Field, 24, who was a partner at Dapper Dans in the High Street, was out with a group of friends when the accident happened shortly before 3pm on the A26 just south of Crowborough. His red and black Suzuki GSXR collided with a silver Ford Fusion being driven by a 70-year-old woman. An air ambulance landed at the nearby Crowborough Beacon golf course, but Mr Field was pronounced dead at the scene. Messages have since flooded in from fam-
ily, friends and customers who knew the barber, with several floral tributes left outside Dapper Dans. His mother Mandy Field wrote on Facebook: “Thank you for all the lovely messages, the flowers and cards, just shows how much he was loved, my heart is break-
‘You will be missed so much by so many people’ ing the tears won’t stop flowing.” A colleague, Georgie May added: “Knowing I’m never going to work with you again breaks my heart, work is going to be so POPULAR hard to be in and Josh Field around for a very long time.”
The Nuts, another barbers based in Quarry Hill Road said: “The Nuts would just like to pay our respect to Josh Field a wellknown talented barber from Dapper Dans. He was once our Saturday boy and it was a pleasure to have known such a wonderful person who we also called a friend.” Mr Field lived in Rusthall with his girlfriend Stephanie Massey and their friend Anna-Marie Salter. “Words cannot even describe what a down to earth, lovely, crazy, caring boy Josh Field is. You will be missed so much by so many people. The house won’t be the same without you. “I’ve had one of the best years with you and Steph as my roomies,” wrote Ms Salter on Facebook.
