NYDC really is a national programme and we are so grateful to all the dancers and creatives who have been part of the past 10 years and for the residency, workshop and performance venues who have hosted us. We know that the majority of our young people join us from other youth companies and training programmes and we are thankful to all the teachers and youth leaders for their support. We hope that NYDC is a platform to champion all the wonderful things happening in youth dance across the country and a celebration of young artists! As the youngest of the national youth dance companies, we are extremely grateful for the support and advice we had from colleagues in Scotland and Wales when we were starting out, and we are still grateful for that network today.

The U.Dance National Festival 2023 marks the end of the 2023 NYDC tour of Novacene by Wayne McGregor. Next year the company will be led by Oona Doherty and the final audition for this will be on 30 July. There are lots of ways you can get involved in NYDC from school workshops, to summer schools, to experience workshops.
