Core skills to live in Authenticity We don’t just “arrive” at healing, move into life and get it all perfect. There will be ongoing challenges; however, the hard work you have done has left you with new core skills with which to maneuver in power. Tap into these to keep yourself moving forward, always growing and developing. Recognize -‐ To recognize means to acknowledge what you are seeing and hearing and to show an appreciation for. This core skill learned in the restoration process is now a lifelong skill that you tap into to keep yourself feeling safe and empowered. You allow yourself the freedom to “see what you see” and for example, recognize if someone disrespects you or recognize if someone crosses your boundaries. You no longer depend on denial to keep yourself stabilized. Power of Agreement—An internal acceptance and alignment with beliefs or messages. You have power to align with or reject the thoughts and messages that are hurtful to you. You no longer live subject to labels that others give you. You are now able to recognize what thought or belief is behind an emotion or behavior that you have. And you now have the power to disagree or agree with it. You consistently ask yourself : Where am I aligning my personal power? Is that helpful or hurtful? What do I need to shift? Where should I align my power? Internalize -‐ To make a part of one’s own pattern of thinking and believing. Internalizing the positive messages others give you, helps you exchange unhealthy and destructive patterns of behavior. As you continue to discover more of you and develop your character, your talents, and you walk into destiny, you internalize all that you discover. You make it part of your thinking. You become a safer person as you continue to move more freely into the healthy unique person you were created to be. Responsibility -‐ a position of being accountable for one’s own behavior, attitudes and the
impact on self and others. In other words, you take responsibility to do what is necessary to keep moving forward, always claiming your freedom to be you. You know how to do the hard work. And you know it is up to you!
