Wes Janz

Wes Janz, PhD, RA is the founder of onesmallproject, a collection of global and local initiatives that foreground the lives of people that many observers consider to be in need or at risk. He is a professor of architecture at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana where, in 2006, he was the recipient of the university’s Outstanding Teaching Award. Janz was one of five finalists for the inaugural Curry Stone Design Prize, an international award established in 2008 to recognize and encourage breakthrough projects that “engage communities at the fulcrum of change, raising awareness, empowering individuals and fostering collective revitalization.” In 2013 he was one of ten persons featured in "The Rise of the Reluctant Innovator," which includes a foreword by Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu. Wes's book, "Leftover Rightunder: Finding Architectural Potential in Found Materials," is available from Half Letter Press.
