Watco has humble beginnings Watco was born at a kitchen table in 1983 when Dick and Kaye Lynne Webb took out a loan, leveraged everything they had, purchased a locomotive, and began railcar switching operations in DeRidder, Louisiana. With the help of eight team members, they launched a business with a simple vision: Take care of the customer, and take care of the people who take care of the customer, and you’ll win. Guided by that vision, Watco has grown into one of the most respected transportation and supply chain services companies in the world.
