DESERT SHADOWS

Hello to all who have returned to Desert Shadows, we are happy to have you back. We hope you had a good summer and made some new memories along the way. We hope you are ready for another fun filled season. We had our first dance of the season and it was our Halloween party and was enjoyed by all. There are many more dances ahead this season so if you missed this one you can plan on attending the next one. Keep your eye on the bulletin board as the season picks up. As more of you return and we have our volunteers back that organize some of the activities they will be posted in lobby. November looks like it will be a busy month. I would like to introduce Charlene Kinmann as my new employee in the activity office this season. Charlene and husband Ron are now permanent residents of Desert Shadows and come to us from Missouri. Please stop by and say “HI” and welcome her to the activity office. You might recognize her because she is also in charge of Thursday night BINGO. IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS: If you have any ideas or suggestions for activities that others might also enjoy please drop by the activity office. Your suggestions are always welACTIVITIES OFFICE HOURS

come; we love new and fresh ideas. WELCOME BACK DINNER: The very popular Welcome Back dinner will be Wednesday November 13th at 5:30 PM the table sign up sheet will be posted in the lobby. Tables are set for 16 people and every one needs to bring a dish to share. Each table is responsible for the food that is provided to their table, except the MEAT which will be provided by the resort. There has been a request (several) that there is “no more grazing” so effective with this dinner you will eat the food proved at your table only. Each person is responsible for their own leftovers. Volunteers are needed to help clean up after dinner. THANKSGIVING DINNER: The Thanksgiving dinner will be Thursday November 28th and will be the same table arrangement as for the welcome back dinner, we will eat at 1:00 PM. Sign up sheet will be posted in the lobby, please list what you are bringing to dinner so you can make sure you have a variety of food at your table. Remember there will not be any more Grazing per requests. We will need Volunteers to cook and carve the Turkeys that the resort provides. Volunteers are needed to help clean up after dinner. Thanks!
