Courteous Camper Guidelines
To make Gateway to Cape Cod a fun place to be for you and your fellow members, there are a few rules for courteous camping which we have summarized below. Please refer to your member handbook for a more complete and detailed set of the rules which apply to the use of your membership.
Rental Units: Check-in is 4:00 pm Checkout is 11:00 am.
Speed Limit: Please observe the 5 miles per hour speed limit. Only people with a valid driver’s license are permitted to operate a motor vehicle in the campground.
Site Location: Please inform the Ranger or the Trading Post Staff of your site location so emergency messages can be delivered when necessary or for the convenience of your guests.
Visitors: Members are limited to one guest family per member family; maximum 10 people per site. Visitors must register and pay a $10 fee to receive a car pass. If members are expecting visitors, guest cars passes are required.
Quiet Hours: Please observe quiet hours 11:00 pm to 8:00 am. All minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent during these hours. Even during non-quiet hours, keep in mind that sound carries outdoors and your neighbor may not want to hear your favorite radio station or TV show.
Children: All children (under 18) must be at their site by 11:00 pm. Parents are expected to know and are responsible for what their children are doing at all times. Children must be accompanied by an adult after 11:00 pm. Please have your children with you when you leave the Campground.
Pets: All pets must be kept on a six-foot leash, kept quiet and cleaned up after. Plastic bags are available. Pets are not permitted in buildings, pavilions, or pool and lake areas. Pets cannot be left unattended. Current rabies vaccination records are required to be provided.
Campfires: Please observe campfire rules and any local burning regulations or restrictions based on weather or climatic conditions. Never leave campfires unattended. Per local ordinance you must extinguish your fire 100%, with water by midnight, before retiring or leaving your campsite. Please not gather or burn pine needles.
Propane Cylinders: DO NOT THROW EMPTY PROPANE CYLINDERS IN THE TRASH. GIVE TO ANY EMPLOYEE.
Trash: Please place all trash in one of the dumpsters. We do not have a trash pick-up. For locations, please refer to your campground map. Please don’t litter.
Shrubs and trees: Cutting of shrubs and trees (Including dead trees) is not permitted. Nothing can be tied to trees including hammocks.
Bicycles: may be ridden during daylight hours only. For the safety of rides and members please do not ride after dark. Helmets must be worn by all.
Golf Carts: License, Insurance, certificate sticker and front desk inspection are required. No speeding.
Motorcycles, Mopeds & Mini-bikes: Motorcycles may be driven to and from sites but not around the campground. Mopeds, mini-bikes, motorized scooters, and electric bikes are prohibited. Unregistered vehicles and off-highway recreational vehicles are not allowed.
Vehicles: 2 vehicles per site. Other vehicles may be kept in visitor parking areas. A $10 fee per extra vehicle applies.
Washing of cars, RVs and trailers is prohibited. RVs cannot be left unoccupied overnight.
Walking through sites: Please don’t walk across other occupied sites. An occupied site is another member’s “home.”
Alcoholic Beverages must be in a cup when carried off your site. Absolutely no excessive drinking.
Clotheslines are not permitted as they can cause serious injury.
Do not feed wildlife.
Picnic Tables are not to be moved from one site to another.
Electric or satellite dish cords must not cross roadways or other sites
Tools, Equipment: No high powered tools or equipment (chainsaws included), are permitted.
Pool Area:
• All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Pool Monitors are required for pool to be open.
• Use pool and pool area at own risk.
• No glass containers. No smoking in pool area.
• Swimming suits must be worn (no cut-offs). White tee-shirts allowed.
• No running, diving or horseplay.
• No underwater equipment, tubes or floats unless a recreation activity.
• Please keep the pool area clean.
• Pool furniture may not leave the pool area.
• Only Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed.
Management reserves the right to interpret all rules to insure an orderly campground. Vandalism and shoplifting will be reported to the police. We reserve the right to ask a camper to leave for disregarding the rules.
Please report any matter needing attention to the manager on duty.

Members and guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gateway to Cape Cod Campground from all claims, liability, loss and expense incurred by reason of injury to person or property, or both, of members, their family or their guests, arising from the use of Gateway to Cape Cod Campground proprieties, its facilities or surrounding areas. Members and guests agree that any dispute shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
