ACTIVITIES OFFICE WELCOME HOME

RESORT IMPROVEMENTS

The activity office welcomes everyone back. Each week we see more and more of our residents returning. We are happy to see you home again, and looking forward to your joining the activities. I hope you all had a nice summer with lots of fun adventures. I am looking forward to getting back to work, as is my granddaughter who I so proud to report just found work back home after what seemed like an eternity of searching! Everybody here at desert shadows has been hard at work in the off-season making improvements and renovating the facilities. Once you get settled in come on down and take a look around at all of the changes.

There have been many improvements made but keep watching as more projects are completed. We are proud to be able to continually work to maintain Desert Shadows at the highest level. We’ve remodeled the lobby and the restrooms with new flooring, sinks, faucets and countertops. The library and card room got a face lift with new carpet and freshly painted walls and ceiling. We also added new furniture in the lobby, and purchased new pads for the chairs/lounges on the patios around the pool building. We restriped the parking lot around the main building. We repaired many sections of the roads around the Resort and are finishing up the street signs project we began replacing last year. We are also looking forward to the addition of a new computer workstation in the library this month.

ACTIVITY OFFICE HOURS The activity office hours has changed a little. We will be open from 9:00am to 3:00 pm. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and closed for lunch from 12:00pm to 1:00pm each day. We will be closed on Sunday and Monday. If there are any other changes in office hours they will be posted on the door.

Best Thanksgiving Poem Thanksgiving is here, so our minds have turned To what time has taught us, to what we've learned: We often focus all our thought On shiny things we've shopped and bought; We take our pleasure in material things Forgetting the pleasure that friendship brings. If a lot of our stuff just vanished today,

We'd see the foundation of each happy day Is special relationships, constant and true, And that's when our thoughts go directly to you. We wish you a Thanksgiving you'll never forget, Full of love and joy—your best one yet! By Joanna Fuchs
