Welcome to the Southern Oregon Coast!
1
Because of its superior weather and recreational opportunities, known as the “banana belt” of the Oregon coast, Brookings is a wellknown retirement area. The cities of Brookings and Harbor rest on the opposite side of the Chetco River, famous for its salmon and steelhead fishing. It is a place where wild and scenic rivers flow through towering forests, a place where you can discover a quiet waterfront town overlooking majestic ocean vistas, and a place with cultural activities that attract people from throughout the United States and the world.
