GUIDELINES FOR AN ENJOYABLE STAY

General Information

• Quiet hours are 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep your neighbors in mind as you enjoy your late night activities.

• Registered campers and guests only are authorized access to the resort and its amenities. Please register visitors with the Front Desk prior to their arrival.

• Please limit the capacity of your site to one RV, two cars and 6 (total) people – this includes registered guests and visitors.  You may utilize one 10’ x 10’ pop-up canopy and one 6’ x 10’ enclosed cargo trailer. All materials must fit within the site.

• Garbage: Dumpsters are available at various locations in the park including at each bathhouse.

• Children 12 & under need to be accompanied by guardian. Parents, please be aware that the sole responsibility for the actions, safety and supervision of your children and their guests belongs to you.

• If you wish to change sites please contact the Front Office.

• Watercraft must be 18 feet or less and contained to one trailer to be kept at your site. Boats longer than 18 feet require a reservation with the Marina.

• Beach areas are for the enjoyment of all guests.  Please obey all beach restriction signs and keep our island beautiful by disposing of all trash responsibly.

• Ground fires are not permitted on the campsites. Please use stoves or grills.

• Please no washing of autos, boats, RVs, trailers or any other vehicle on your site. Vehicle/boat washing station is in the Marina area.

• Please use a foam ring on the sewer connections. If you do not have one please check with the Store.

• Sunshine Key is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles.

Marina Information

• For your safety, please do not swim, fish or dive in the marina.

• Please keep your bicycles, golf carts, skateboards or other vehicles on the roads.

• Please clean fish at the fish cleaning station and not at your site. Your neighbors will appreciate it.

• All marina slips are reserved. Please check with the Marina Store for slip rental information.

• It is unlawful to anchor or beach your boat, dinghy, Personal Watercraft or any other floating vessel anywhere on or around Sunshine Key Resort property. Sunshine Key Resort property is defined as Ohio Key on maritime charts. Boaters violating this rule are subject to fine and/or arrest by Florida Marine Patrol.

Pool Information

• Pool hours are 8:00 am - Dusk.

• Parents - There are no lifeguards. Please watch your children carefully.

• The pool is reserved for registered guests only.

Pet Information

• We love pets. In order to maintain a safe environment, please keep your pets closely supervised.

• Please keep your pet on a leash at all times on the resort. Pet pens are not permitted.

• A pet walk area is provided. Please contact the staff if you have a question and please clean up after your pet.

• Pet owners are responsible for the behavior of their pets.

Vehicle Information

• Please display your Vehicle Pass on your vehicle at all times.

• All golf carts and other non-licensed motorized equipment must be registered with the Front Desk. All vehicle/golf cart operators must agree to the golf cart guidelines.

• For safety reasons, all vehicle/golf cart operators must possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 16 years of age.

• All motorized vehicle/golf carts must be battery operated and have working lights.

• Please no glass in the pool area. If broken, it can cause us to close the pool for cleaning.

• Please observe all posted safety signs.

• Operators must register Wave Runners/Jet Skis with the office and agree to Guidelines prior to launching in the Marina.

While we believe the vendors listed in the park map provide a service that will benefit our guests, MHC Thousand Trails Limited Partnership and its affiliates are not affiliated with or responsible for the service provided by these vendors.

MARINA GUIDELINES

1. Be courteous and respectful of other boaters.

2. Each boat and trailer must be appropriately labeled with stickers indicating slip/site number and reservation length.

3. Be sure to provide the Marina with up-to-date contact information.

4. Secure your boat in the slip assigned to you (do not borrow, lend, or use another).

5. Trailer parking is reserved for slip renters.

6. Park all vehicles (except bicycles and golf carts) at your site, not in the Marina area.

7. The Marina is a NO-WAKE zone (idle-speed only).

8. Do not fish, net, swim, dive, or spear in the Marina.

9. Jet-skis are not allowed in marina slips or trailer parking area.

10. Follow the yellow arrows for launch and recovery.

11. Boats should not be left unattended at the fuel or launch docks for more than 15 minutes.

12. Sunshine Key reserves the right to take appropriate measures for any unauthorized boats, trailers, etc.

13. All slip renters are required to sign the full set of Marina Rules and Guidelines (available at the Marina Store).

FISHING

LICENSE?

Non-residents who are 16 years of age or older are required to have Florida licenses and permits to participate in hunting, freshwater fishing and saltwater fishing.

• Out-of-state fishing and hunting licenses are not valid in Florida.

• A fishing license is required to attempt to take fish. If you cast a line or catch and release, you need a license.

• A saltwater fishing license is required to attempt to take any native or nonnative marine organisms, such as crabs, lobsters, and marine plants.

• Visitors who are listed on the National Saltwater Angler Registry are still required to have a Florida recreational saltwater fishing license unless they are a member of one of the exempted groups listed.

• Non-residents using beach or haul seines for recreational purposes are required to have a commercial saltwater products license.

• Children under 16 years of age do not need recreational licenses and permits in Florida.

A saltwater fishing license and permits are not required if:

• You fish from a for-hire vessel (guide, charter, party boat) that has a valid charter license.

• You fish from a vessel whose operator has a valid recreational saltwater vessel license issued in the name of the operator of the vessel.

• You are fishing during a free saltwater fishing day.

• You fish from a pier with a valid saltwater pier license.

You have a valid saltwater products license or FWC charter captain license (does not apply to charter boat license or U.S. Coast Guard license).
