Kiren Khosla

“I believe that somewhere in the darkest night… a candle glows. I believe above the storm… the smallest breath… will still be heard”.

(‘I believe’ by Robson and Jerome 2016)

Kiren discusses why she wrote this book chapter using personal experiences of counsellor training, loss, and bereavement, including explicit discussions around suicide and trauma.

Together we will explore how awareness and power can impact relationships, our clients, our supervision experiences, complaint procedures and our participation in the wider world.

The workshop will include creativity, Activities2heal and multimedia (no artistic abilities necessary), to enable participants to look at their own experiences from differing perspectives and share their learning, if they wish to.

Finally, we will be looking at how these outcomes, can be applied within our practice. Everyone is welcome!

All participants cameras will be switched off to create an inclusive, accessible, and safe environment for exploration. All names will be anonymised. Captions will be available.

If attending please bring paper, felt pens or pencils, a photo of yourself as a child (if possible, or a memory) and a scarf.

Kiren is an Accredited, Person Centred, Private Practice Counsellor, Coach and Supervisor, who created Activites2heal, as a way to support a range of clients and students from White, Black, Brown and Mixed Race and Heritage backgrounds.
