CALL TO ACTION: HELP ADULTS TO READ

Can you imagine not being able to read this article or the labels while shopping? There are many adults in your community who would not be able to do either.

Read Easy offers free, one-to-one and confidential Reading support to adults who struggle to read in a way that impacts daily life.

Learning to read transforms people’s lives. They improve their employment opportunities, progress to other learning, are able to support their children’s reading, read official letters, use public transport and understand medical letters and medication bottles…

Above all, people grow in con dence, self-esteem and independence. Being part of that process is special.

We need volunteers to help us set up a group in Salford where there are over 9% of the adult population who could bene t from such support.

Do you have local knowledge of Salford you could use to raise awareness and build a team to offer this support in your community?

Do you have the initiative, energy and enthusiasm to help us?

Do you have the con dence to network and enthuse others?

If so, you could be just the person we’re looking for.

Once we have formed a team to run the group we will have further volunteer opportunities but our priority is to nd key volunteers to get the group set up.
