Salford Survivor Project: Celebrating 10 Years!

Salford Survivor Project celebrate their 10th year this July having helped over 12,000 people to live free from abuse.

This year they’ve worked hard to ensure their message reaches more people and have also begun working with young people, raising awareness in schools.

The impact of intrafamilial abuse on survivors changes the way families make choices, how they think about themselves and others. Survivors are more likely to suffer with mental health, physical illnesses, drugs, alcohol or other addictions. There are no quick fixes for the damage done, many abused children will go on to abuse, lacking emotional stability and coping mechanisms.

This year SSP have gone a step further to help the community open Pauls Haven & Family Hub. It is open to community groups and SSP have an outreach service o ering advice, support and essential items such as clothes and food.

To raise money for the increasing demand in the community, they also opened a community café Da Vida Deli at 78 Partington Lane, Swinton. Pop in with the knowledge that when you buy a cup of co ee and a delicious cake or meal, you are also helping someone who is living in food poverty. Da Vida Deli’s pro ts go back into the project and provides community meals for those struggling at this hard time.
