Issue 22 May
Want to appear in our
Welcome To the May issue of On Our Doorstep. Well it looks like we’ve made it through April, which is more than can be said for the kids secret stashes of hidden chocolate! We’ve had another busy month, a quick couple of days in sunny Hunstanton visiting family and having our fish & chips stolen by seagulls. I managed to squeeze a couple of visits to Letchworth Rugby Club, to watch the mighty Legends. And the boy finally bought himself a new van for his growing business. We called on the services of Jenny, who advertises in the magazine and we finally had our dogs microchipped, as it became a legal requirement in April. 10/10 she chips them in the comfort of their own home, so no upsetting the dogs, quick, easy and the dogs didn’t seem bothered at all. On to May, we hope you like this months front cover, we’ve had alot of images emailed over this month and we had a really tough job choosing just one. Huge thank you to local photographer Simon from Simon Brooks Photography for sending over his stunning image taken at Radwell lake. I hope a few of you tried the ‘Sweet Chilli Pork Belly’ recipe featured in the April, it’s another one of our family favourites. Sorry no recipe this issue, we literally ran out of room, on that note if you have a family favourite of your own that you would like to share, we’d love to hear from you. You know summer is just around the corner when the many festivals of Baldock and the surrounding areas begin.

Longhorn Cattle Instead of Mechanical Mowers at Ivel Springs! You may have no ced that (fairly discrete) fencing has appeared in the hay meadow at Ivel Springs and wondered why? This meadow is part of the Nature Reserve and as such, less mechanical methods are being sought to cut the grass at the end of the season: a handful of longhorn ca le(who may look scary but are quite docile!) A er the cowslips in May and field geraniums in June/July plus the numerous other na ve wildflower species growing there have had me to flower and set seed, the cows will be allowed to do the job of the annual cut that a wildflower meadow needs (otherwise the stronger grass strains take over). Other advantages ca le have over mechanical cu ers are: · They break the ground up with their hooves le ng the seeds se le in pockets of earth, helping their germina on. · They give a gradual cut rather than sudden cut of the mowers which lets insects move out of their way and survive. ·Cows don't eat right down to the ground, leaving longer grass for invertebrates ·They produce dung for beetles ·A tradi onal na ve breed and land management method are being kept alive People can s ll walk through the meadow along the favoured diagonal path – between 2 disabled access kissing gates: now and when the ca le are grazing, even with dogs, although please keep your dog on a lead when the ca le are present. While Friends of Baldock Green Spaces were working a few Sundays ago
we found that dog owners were actually delighted to have a large fenced off area where their dogs can roam free for most of the year without giving their owners the worry of them not coming back! This may have been a posi ve impact which NHDC were not expec ng! A grass strip the width of a track has been le outside the fenced off area so people can s ll walk around the edge of the field to the far side for their circular walks if they do not wish to go through the ca le enclosure. The ca le on Weston Hills (returning again this year, plus sheep on Gibbet Hill) have become a well- loved feature by local people and I'm sure the ones at Ivel Springs will soon be collec ng admirers from people in this area of Baldock too. Roll on July! Katrina Nice - Friends of Baldock Green Spaces

NEWS FROM ST MARY'S JUNIOR SCHOOL As we start our summer term, we look forward to the promised summer weather allowing us to use our beau ful school grounds. We have a huge field as well as our wildlife area and a school garden for children to use and to learn about their environment. Outdoor sport is always important to us at St Mary's; we are lucky to have several members of staff who love sport themselves and enjoy sharing their skills and enthusiasm with the children. Consequently, children get far more than the statutory 2 hours week of sport and PE. In this Olympic year, we will be trying to involve all of our children in becoming more ac ve by taking part in individual, team and whole school events – like the Sport Relief mile that Mrs Shoobert organised before Easter. At lunch mes, children are able to compete in intra-school House Sports run by Mr Hagland. He organises different sports to cater for all needs. (Including a table football compe on for the less energe c, at which, it has to be said, the staff are quite compe ve themselves). Children are awarded counters in their House colour for good sportsmanship as well as for winning. At the end of this term,
Mr Hagland will count the counters in the four House jars with the winning House having an a ernoon treat usually involving some sport and a picnic. We have sports clubs each day before and a er school as well so there's opportunity at all mes of the day for children to improve their personal fitness and gain counters for their house. Years 3 and 5 will have a course of swimming lessons at the Hitchin Swimming Centre while Year 6 will be able to try some more adventurous sports like abseiling, kayaking and gorge walking when they visit the Stayli le Outdoor Centre in Powys, Wales. A highlight this term will be Sports Day where Year 6 get to take part in a tug-of-war and we celebrate the individual successes of children within their House events. This term, we also look forward to some
school visits with Years 3 and 5 both visi ng St Albans; Year 3 for the Verulamium museum and Year 5 for a Viking workshop at the Abbey. Year 4 are going to Cuffley Camp for three days to live outdoors under canvas and experience the Great Northaw Wood environment. Year 6 will be studying hard up to the SATs at the beginning of May then will have some well deserved events to look forward to – they will be doing an end of year performance – always a great occasion in school - and will take part in an Enterprise Project where they use their skills to manufacture and sell a product for their chosen charity. In the past they have made jewellery, pizza, smoothies and cup cakes for the rest of the school to buy and enjoy. We start off this term with children in Year 5 taking part in Bikeability training. This will enable them to develop their safety skills whilst out riding their bikes. When they have completed this training they will be allowed to ride their bikes to school – what could be be er on a summer day than cycling to and from school?! Patricia Jenkins - Headteacher

IS CROSSFIT FOR YOU? CrossFit was first introduced back in 2000 when a US ci zen named Greg Glassman launched the programme stateside. Since then it's taken the world by storm and there's even a CrossFit facility in Letchworth – CrossFit LGC. But what is it and is it for you? CrossFit is described as 'constantly varied func onal movements performed at high intensity'. So basically you put in maximum effort over a short period of me to get the most from your workout. The idea of slogging it out for hours at a me is the complete opposite to the CrossFit mentality. The CrossFit programme is based around 38 movements that you learn and master over me. These include: Olympic Weightli ing, gymnas cs, plyometrics, power li ing and calisthe cs. These sound difficult, but the beauty of CrossFit is that everything is scalable. There's always an easier or a harder op on, depending on your skills. Everyone has to start somewhere and no-one can perform all 38 movements to begin with. Which is where the challenge lies. It's up to you to learn and grow and put in the prac ce for the hard work to pay off. At CrossFit LGC we welcome everyone into the box to give it a go, whether you're 16 or 66. No one is be er than anyone else and actually, the person who finishes their workout last is o en the person ge ng the biggest amount of cheers to help them push to the end. CrossFit will definitely push you in new ways but it will also help you become a fi er, leaner, stronger, more flexible and agile athlete than any other exercise programme. It's constantly varied so no two workouts are ever the same. If you feel like this is the programme for you, or you just want to experience what it's all about then why not sign up to our next four or six-week founda on course before deciding if you want to join and embrace the benefits of CrossFit training.

The Ofcial Start of Spring
With Spring very much in the air the children have been exploring lots of the joys this season brings. Just before the Easter holiday the children where visited by the Easter Bunny who le a large number of eggs for them to find all over our garden. They where all very excited to be taking part and helped all their friends find theirs as well. We would like to thank all our families who sponsored their child for the Easter Egg Hunt. Their generosity means we can offer the children the best possible

resources for them to enjoy, explore and learn with. Our Spring theme has con nued a er the holiday with 'things that grow'. The children will o en take a theme and share their own ideas on what they would like to learn more about. The theme 'things that grow' is a prime example, one of the children expressed an interest in flowers and how they grow. The staff have used this idea and created a large number of ac vi es for them to explore. A farm shop with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables has been created both indoors and out in our garden. The children have been growing different seeds and beans with great success. They have been exploring different types of flowers and using different art and cra materials to create their own. We have also been making great use of our amazing garden and allowing the children to enjoy the spring sunshine. We have been searching for mini beasts, watering our spring flowers, making music in the music arch and enjoying the sand and water tables alongside our big play equipment. The children have also been delighted with a number of new pieces of equipment we have been able to purchase. These include some tube telephones to encourage language and communica on skills, a double seater trike for use in our gardens and tube construc on kits. Our Friday Parent & Toddler group con nues to grow. We run from 1:30pm – 3pm offering lots of messy play and cra ac vi es for your children to enjoy. We hold the group in our pre-school room which helps any child who maybe joining us in September to become familiar with us. £2 per child with under 18 month siblings free this includes a drink and snack for the children. We also p r o v i d e refreshments for parents and carers. In fine weather we will be able to use our garden including our excellent play equipment.

school, recently when Darth Vader appeared to open our new Outdoor Learning Space. In his speech to the gathered throng he said, “I have come from a galaxy far, far away at the request of your esteemed leaders, the school governors, to officially open your new covered learning area. I would like you all to show your thanks to FOSS (Friends of Sandon School) for raising the necessary funds, with an intergalac c three cheers.” Talking about things from outer space our space seeds have arrived and we will be monitoring their growth and le ng you know how we get on in next month's magazine. Just before our holiday we had a Science Week in school. The children were treated to a show by 'Nitro Nick' on forces. Teachers then shared their favourite experiments with the children during assembly. Mr Musk did a very scary experiment where he turned a glass of water upside down, the water only being held in by a thin piece of card. Poor Adam, si ng beneath, thought he was going to get soaked! The week ended with the whole school plan ng seeds on our 'Wildflower Hill' which we hope will a ract bees and insects to our grounds. May also brings SATs tests, as it does to all schools. We try not to put our children under too much pressure and feel sure that they will all give a good account of themselves and do their best. Margaret Gilbert - Head Teacher

Letchworth Rugby Club awarded £75,000 Letchworth Rugby Club is among 148 local sports projects to secure a share of £9 million of Na onal Lo ery funding from Sport England's Inspired Facili es fund. Since 2011, Inspired Facili es has been helping breathe new life into red community sports facili es and conver ng exis ng buildings into venues suitable for grassroots sport. Letchworth Rugby Club will receive £75,000 of Na onal Lo ery funding to upgrade its clubhouse, which has helped thousands of local young people get into sport since it first opened its doors in 1924. The improvements include upgrades to the changing rooms, physio rooms, showers, toilets and the kitchen. Sport England Property Director, Charles Johnston, said: “The Inspired Facili es Fund has had a huge impact on grassroots sport across the country. Since 2011, we've invested £102 million into more than 1,920 projects to improve and refurbish sports clubs and transform non-spor ng venues into vibrant community sports clubs. “It's great to see Letchworth Rugby Club join the long list of successful clubs to benefit from this fund.” Club President, Brian Burke, said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment, which means we can upgrade our facili es to offer a more welcoming environment for new players, families, visi ng teams and supporters. It is the cornerstone of our strategy to encourage more young people to play sport on a regular basis, and to enjoy the social interac on, comradery and friendships on offer at their local rugby club.” Local MP, Sir Oliver Heald, said: “This investment by Sport England into Letchworth Rugby Club is fantas c news. There has always been a strong spor ng tradi on in the area and this money
is an investment in young people for today and for the future; we'll see top class rugby players training in top class facili es.” Many more communi es are set to benefit from the hugely popular fund with the latest round of the Inspired Facili es now open. Community and voluntary organisa ons, councils and schools can bid for a share of £5 million to help upgrade facili es that can be una rac ve, expensive to run and difficult to maintain, and to convert exis ng non-spor ng buildings into venues that are suitable for grassroots sport. Applying for funding has never been easier. Based on feedback from previous applicants, the Inspired Facili es Fund is now an open programme which means projects can submit applica ons as soon as they are ready rather than being restricted by a specific deadline. Baldock Gardens By Graham Tapp
Tapps, The Baldock Garden Centre
May 2016. When I was writing for the beginning of the year, January, February and March we were in the middle of the warmest period of winter most of us had ever seen. The garden was showing very distinct signs of confusion and most plants were starting to come out of dormancy or at least showing worrying signs that they very soon would. We all considered the season to be at least four weeks ahead of the calendar. I sit here today worrying about the season slipping back as it is considered by most specialists I speak with as being two weeks at least behind, now the problem is very different, I am getting my plant suppliers crying out for me to take tender plants, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Peppers and all sorts of tender bedding and basket plants. The unseasonable early weather that was going to be the plant grower and wholesalers dream has turned into their biggest nightmare, we had an early Easter this year which turned into a cold non event and ever since we have had cold and wet weekends, we have even had snow showers into late April, so the warm weather early on prompted some rash planting decisions mostly driven by greedy retailers and market traders who try and sell tender plants earlier and earlier, most but not all of the general public have been hoodwinked into thinking this is correct and in fairness how would they know!? So this year the weather has been so extreme that this has not worked and there is a huge back up of over early plants, now here is the problem, for anyone who has or is buying plants early, when the season is slow (late) it will be because of generally depressed light levels, heat levels and rain / snow, what commercial growers do is provide their plants with light, heat and extra day length, now very few of the general public can supply any of this let alone understand the complex needs of the fantastically early plants they have luckily been supplied by their very helpful and magical retailer, to give an example of what happens is to ask if any of you have had tomatoes or basket plants that have gone white at the growing tips and then wondered why the crop has been poor, not quite so many flowers through the season or they have stopped early! Well its all because you have tried to beat nature and started too early. Once a plant is damaged it will never perform as it should, so a week here or there is OK but no more, you are wasting your money and time and not being clever, I do not sell any tender plants regardless of what every other garden centre is doing for this very reason until the third week of April, and if like this year the weather is bad I will wait until the 1st week in May, plants purchased at the correct time regardless of the calendar will catch up and always out perform any thing stressed from excessively early planting, let the more professional conscientious whole sale growers spend their money looking after them for you, it wont cost you anything in time or money and I can assure you, you will get a better plant, and results Tip: if you still have your heating on indoors or you have to carry a coat with you, then it is too cold for any of your tender plants, if you don’t have to regularly wear sunglasses or squint in the sun, then it is not bright enough for your tender plants. and that’s how it has worked for millions of years.
Some of you will have been wondering what it is we are doing at the back of the Garden Centre! The answer is that we have about two acres of land we are not using for growing at the moment, the plan is to use it as a teaching area in conjunction with North Herts College, we will be opening it up for vulnerable students for training and integration into society the intention is that it will become self funding and the first step onto the work and independence ladder for some of the students. We intend the project called “Green Shoots” to produce fruit, vegetables and other crops throughout the season which will be either be purchased at current wholesale prices and used in our restaurant or sold in a soon to be built Deli / Farm shop run within Tapps Garden Centre, this will be financially separate from the Garden Centre, the project is Kindly being overseen, by the Letchworth and District Garden Association and organised by the College and Tapps Garden Centre. The project will initially need some help, it will need tools and all the things that allotments would normally require to run, so if you have any thing that would help us and would like to donate it to a worthy cause, then we would be extremely grateful. The project when fully open and working will be open for viewing by request and under supervision, unfortunately access will be restricted when the students are on site. We have had fifty Public service students from North Hertfordshire out on work experience already which has proved beneficial to the project and for themselves , the site has been cleared and the first growing beds have been marked out and dug, a lot of very hard physical work it was, but the Public Service students showed they were up to the task and the first stage is complete. Planting will commence in May and we will get crops by the mid summer, I will keep you all informed, photos will follow in the months to come. We can also use the site for some instruction, in return for a small donation, so if you want to learn allotment growing please ask . Have some good gardening, Cheers Graham M AY

As another season draws to a close, Baldock Town FC are already planning for next season. Wherever Luke Gregson's men finish the campaign, it will certainly be seen as a step forward and a season of progress as he completes his first term in charge. It is great to see the Club con nuing to make progress on the field, but we want to take steps off the field too. Club Secretary Lee Rusbridge and 1st Team Gopher/Programme Editor Lynn "Pinky" Parker recently a ended an FA "Grow Your Club" seminar and this has certainly given them some food for thought going forward. Rusbridge commented "I've been to a number of FA seminars over the past few years and to be honest the majority don't generally give you any more informa on than you already know, but this par cular seminar had a guest speaker Mark Bradley from The Fan Experience Company. He gave us some great insight and some guidance into what we can do to try and improve the overall experience of visi ng our Football Club. As part of this project, we will be ge ng a visit from a "mystery" family, who will come along to a game and then fill out a ques onnaire detailing their overall matchday experience with us. Over the Summer we will be looking to carry out something similar within the local community to try and gauge what our exis ng and poten al supporters want. Feedback is vitally important to our improvement. We may not have the glitz of the Premier League, but we feel we provide a good standard of football and a friendly and welcoming environment to watch a game on your doorstep. At this level, even if we could en ce an addi onal 10 spectators along per game, per season it can make a huge difference to us. Playing outside of the Town does make it difficult for us to a ract new supporters, but as a Club we are commi ed to pursuing any avenues possible to get the local community interested in what we are doing and what we have to offer. We would be grateful for any ideas or sugges ons. It is not just about en cing people to come and watch, but we would love to get more volunteers involved too. We are ac vely looking for a Physiotherapist for our 1st and Reserve Teams. Both teams play the majority of their games on Saturdays and the 1st Team play midweek games on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, so the ideal candidate would be available for these. The posi on would be ideally suited to someone either qualified or working toward a qualifica on and looking to gain experience in this field. We are also looking for volunteers who can assist in a variety of roles such as helping on matchdays, promo ng fixtures and events, raising awareness of the club in the community etc. Again, if anyone out there has an interest or is doing a course in media or anything that could be a useful asset to our football club, we would love to hear from you". The Club will be holding its End of Season Awards in the Victoria Pub on Sun Street, Baldock on Saturday 14th May from 6pm, so any supporters wishing to come along are more than welcome. There will also be a 1st Team v Reserves match at the North Herts Arena from 3pm on the day - Free Entry. A RESIDENTS PLAN FOR BALDOCK & BYGRAVE
Baldock and Bygrave are se ng up a new organisa on to influence and contribute to the local planning in this area. It is to be chaired by Rev Andrew Holford. A temporary commi ee has been formed to enable the group to be launched and they are looking for people from all parts of the community to get involved. The plan will consider the needs of both Baldock and Bygrave. More informa on about neighbourhood plans can be found at h p://locality.org.uk/projects/building-community/ Everybody in Baldock and Bygrave is encouraged to take part in developing the Neighbourhood Plan. Parrot Bebop 2 with Sky Controller...
...Bring your own nerves! Parrot have been making quadcopter drones for quite a while, I was able to test their AR Drone 2 a couple of years back so it was a good opportunity to see how far they've come since those nerve racking hours back in 2014. The Bebop 2 has a decent specifica on, allowing for 1080 HD video recording on a 8gb of built in storage, the camera uses so ware op cal image stabilisa on. The stabilisa on actually allows you to control the view of the camera by not actually moving the camera but processing the image to give the illusion of movement, this sounds great and it works really well, however by processing the HD video in 'fish eye' form to produce a standard 'flat' version means that the quality has to be down sampled, this in evident in the quality of the video which is good, but not great. I found the same problem with the Kodak Pixpro 360 camera which also had a 1080hd sensor but also required extreme over processing. In a perfect world, the camera sensor needs to be UHD or 4K which would allow the so ware processing to produce a full HD video, but for now it's acceptable.
60 seconds to re-establish communica on, if this fails it ascends to a safe height and returns to it's launch point using it's inbuilt GPS hardware. The Bebop 2 and Sky Controller both use the same type of 11.1v Lithium Ion ba ery, the drone will drain this to empty in about 25minutes which I found about right even in windy weather Flying a drone is s ll nerve racking! Essen ally you are trus ng a reasonable small item to stay sta onary in the air up to 500 above your head and with all the stabilisa on built in, it does do this, but I s ll felt nervous about what might happen! Good drones aren't cheap, but you do get what you pay for. The Bebop 2 with Sky Controller can be found for around £599 and provides lots of entertainment in 25 minute bites. For more in depth reviews and technology informa on come and find me at www.thegadgetman.org.uk. - Ma Porter

Ÿ All Types of Bodywork The drone can be controlled by an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet and Windows phone over wifi using a free app called Free Flight 3, I found it really easy to control, I did however use a iPhone 6s plus with it's big screen, something that is necessary to control is properly. There are lots of op ons in the so ware such as 'Flight Plan' which allows you to plan the exact loca on of the drone with the use of 'waypoints' with op ons to set height, air speed etc, this was fun to use, although I have to admit, I'm s ll playing. I also tested it's companion product, the Sky Controller, this is a 'proper' controller for the drone which connect via wifi to the drone and phone/tablet giving you a more tradi onal method of opera ng the drone, it also contains a much more powerful wifi transmi er/receiver which increases the opera onal range of the drone to 'up to' 2 kilometres. I have to be honest when I say I didn't experience a marked increase in range and whilst tes ng it on open beach, the wifi signal did drop well within this range, however should this happen, the drone stops in the air, waits up to

BALDOCK TOWN YOUTH REACH THREE CUP FINALS It has been a really successful season once again for Baldock Town Youth as they reach three cup finals. The U11's had three very nervy single goal victories – good experience for the kids, but the management team aged ten years during the match. Round one saw Baldock playing away to BS FC where Baldock U11 Templars nine boys (no subs available) played their hearts out for eighty minutes thoroughly deserving to win the match. The scores ed at full- me but it was suggested that they play a further thirty minutes extra me. We agreed on playing ten minutes each way, with Baldock scoring in the last fi een seconds to avoid penal es. The final score was 4-5 to Baldock. The next two matches were stressful but were comfy 2 – 1 victories. The quarter final was a bit of blur for the management team as the boys once again played some great football booking their place in the semi-finals. In the semi-final match Baldock Town Youth were in control for most of the match and scored the first goal. However they were unluckily pegged back with a long-range pot shot that took a wicked bounce off the surface. Baldock quickly restored the lead and held out for another solid win. U14's - The road to the Cup Final 2016 started on 22nd November 2015 in the first round away against Letchworth Blacks. This game finished 3-3 and went to extra me with the Baldock U14 Templars Templars winning 7-3. Goal scorers on this day was Liam Tyler (x1), Cole Butler (x1), Dan Maher (x1) and Antonio Marra (x4). Round 2 was away to Pin Green. This game was postponed a couple of mes due to waterlogged pitches. When the game was eventually going to be played, Pin Green awarded Baldock the win as they wanted to concentrate on their league games, not what Baldock wanted. Baldock were now in the quarter finals away to Arlesey Town Youth. This game was played on 13th March 2016 and was a comfortable win for the reds with goal scorers being Rem Harmsworth (x1), Dan Maher (x2) and Antonio Marra (x2). The semi-final was against Stevenage Borough Pumas on 3rd April 2016 but unfortunately they folded weeks prior to this game so Baldock were automa cally through to the final. Again not what the boys would have liked and just wanted to play football. Baldock will play in the final on 8th May 2016 with a 2pm kick off at The Bury Sports & Social Club in Bun ngford against Stevenage Borough Bluesox Wanderers. I am sure this will be a great game of football between two sides who are quite evenly matched. U15's Baldock Town U15 Templars cup journey began with what appears to be a comfortable, rou ne win away against Manuden. Whilst the score line may indicate a wide margin between the team it doesn't tell the whole story. An injury to our goalkeeper in the warm up meant we had to start with our Centre Forward in goal, not the best prepara on. It didn't have too much effect as we ran out 17-1 winners with every ou ield player except one scoring.
The next round threw up a e worthy of the final itself, a home game v our closest rivals Letchworth Whites, the only team to have beaten us in the league this year. The lads were superb, playing unbelievable football to win through to the semi-finals 40. On to the last four, the stage the team fell at last season. No mistakes this me around with a 6-1 victory away at Stevenage Borough Stars. The final should be a great game, against a really strong Bishop's Stor ord side. This is a repeat of the semi-final last year where we lost out on a penalty shootout, so lots to put right this me out. The Final will be held at the Bury, Bun ngford on Sunday 1st May, kick off 2.00pm. It would be great to get as much support as possible, £2 on the door.

If you want to think posi vely but always seem to find the nega ve in situa ons, Thrive Programme could have a solu on for you. New research suggests you can be turned into a glass half full person - just by the power of your own mind. 1. Process the posi ve experiences in your life. Make some effort to really no ce the posi ve things that happen to you everyday, can really help psychological wellbeing.. 2. Build up the belief that you are in control of your life If you feel yourself thinking in a powerless way, challenge yourself. For example, if you think something like 'I could never run a marathon' change it to 'I could run a marathon if I put in the effort to train hard. 3. Mind your language! Our language is a window, through which we can easily recognise our thoughts and beliefs. The language that we speak (both out loud and in our heads) is an expression of what we think and believe. 4. Visualise what you want to happen in your life, rather than what you fear. Many of us unconsciously start to project our worries into our visualisa ons and 'fantasies' about how something will go.. instead train your imagina on what you want to happen, not what you fear. 5. Challenge yourself! The key to success is to think about the steps you need to take to achieve your goal – make a plan of ac on rather than a vague idea. 6. Keep Perspec ve We all experience unpleasant events and we all make mistakes but the key to being happy is to see them in context and move on, rather than making them worse by focusing in on the most nega ve aspect. Kim Holloway Thrive Consultant and Hypnotherapist can deliver the Thrive Programme which is an incredibly effec ve mul session “training course” that will not only help you to see things in a radically different way, but will also give you the power and knowledge to realise all of your dreams and aspira ons
