In preparation

for the 40th annual One of a Kind Christmas Show this November, I decided to take a look through our archives from over the years. As I sat and reviewed decade’s worth of press releases and show photos, it dawned on me that despite how the Show has grown and evolved since its debut in 1975, our artisans and their stories continue to drive what we do today. Earlier this year, we travelled across Canada to visit some of our makers in their homes and studios. From raising a family to hanging out with friends, navigating the city to tending a garden, the following pages will give you a glimpse of their lives and how their passions shape their beautiful creations. For us, these are the stories that make shopping at One of a Kind an exceptional experience. We are not only a destination to shop handmade, we are also a meeting place where makers and buyers connect through a shared appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship and community.
