ARCHITECT’S OFFICE DESIGN SEMESTER 3 This project proposes to design a creative and conductive environment for a group of architects. It does so by keeping the zoning of spaces in mind by welcoming the workers to an informal and playful setting of workspace embraced by private offices and meeting rooms. The building opens up to different recreational outdoor activities and discussion spaces which is proposed to help the workers maintain and chose a healthy and happy lifestyle by reducing office stress levels.
CONCEPT of design is to incorporate the maximum of the natural sloping terrain and boldly adjust the architectural aspects of design. To design a work environment which not only serves as a pleasant place to work but also responds to human comfort ability.
A north-facing slope increases the potential for access to northern sun and is ideal for daylighting.

Entrance is designed to create an experience of richness by woven ceiling look with fabric, wood grid and ceiling recessed lighting accompanied by Buddhist art work and jute furnishing with the Buddha Statue overlooking the valley through the fluted wooden columns. The chief architects have their garden themed patios for informal meetings. Colonnades creates a sense of openness and helps in integrating the building with its surrounding and helps the office to be naturally ventilated. Interiors of the interns workshop is given a rustic bold look with exposed beams.
CHILDREN’S MUSEUM SEMESTER 5 Children are naturally curious, seeking opportunities to playfully explore while wondering about the magical possibilities of the world around them. Wonder and the process of discovery are fundamental to the mission of a children’s museum and design strategy. The design sought to address a potentially major thoroughfare where the primary users are families and groups of school children.

MUSIC CONSERVATORY SEMESTER 6
The brief for this project was to design a performing arts campus of diversified activities with focus on horizontal or/& vertical circulation & grid planning. Each students were asked to pick an art form and transform the site by proposing three different concepts. The use of prefabrication was a special requirement for this project. This project was exhibited at the Faculty of Architecture,Manipal in May,2017.

This project proposes a music school or more specifically an institute for eastern music conservation. It does by separating two acts of music, performing and practising and placing them respectively outside and inside the original structure. The project deals with the concept of individualism and collectivism, strategically bringing fragment of spaces which is designed for the holistic growth of a musician and planned to achieve a complimentary effect between the state of mind of an individual and that of a group of performer.

BUILDING AMPARA SEMESTER 6 – IDide, Srilanka Deakin University, Australia Morotuwa University, Srilanka Faculty of Architecture, Manipal
This project was a collaborative effort of students of Idide (Intercultural Dialogue through design 2017 held in Sri Lanka. It aimed in proposing a community center for the people of Ampara, Sri Lanka. This project has specific focus on the engagement, education and empowerment of local rural communities with a strong cultural sensitivity. There were two design solution that were proposed for this particular project. I was involved in the development of conceptual planning and design of the project.
DESIGN APPROACH Revolves around the existing margosa tree which is considered sacred by the community. Two blocks radiate from this tree, one housing the public zones such as the multipurpose hall, and the other the more private ones. By planting another margosa tree, a central open space has been created. This open space facilitates a interaction between the community while creating a buffer space between the two blocks. The new margosa tree therefore connects the users of the two blocks and symbolizes the coming together of the society. Vistas and views have been created by framing the entry through the central space towards the deck. The deck creates a connection to canal and activities along the bank. Materials and design techniques aim at providing a holistic approach to the built environment.

FLOWER MARKET SEMESTER 7
Existing flower market was constructed in 1942. The flower market caters to the daily needs of temple activities. The existing linear structure with one main entry, has been maintained neatly but lacks facilities in terms of storage , loading –unloading bays and other infrastructure for its users. Since the flower market is a prominent land mark in the area , redevelopment project is taken up to emphasis on the market place and promote tourism by clubbing it with a cultural center and protecting the heritage value of the structure at the same time. The aim of this project is to redevelop the already existing flower market of Car Street, Mangalore. This project aimed in developing the flower market into a market cum social hub, introducing a food court and cultural hub. All these centers are proposed to attract more public and acts as a support system to one another.
CONTEXT Proposing an ALLEY with shops in either side will encourage the pedestrians to go through the whole market. Keeping the exit on the other side of the main road not only helps in taking the customers throughout all the shops but also helps in taking care of the congestion of traffic that is not let out to the main road.
PROGRAM SCHEME The flower market is kept in the ground floor for the convenience of the users with vernacular shopping spaces which particularly sells traditional crafts and souvenirs helping the local handicraft business.
GREEN TECHNOLOGY In correspondent with the environmental inclination of the project, porous surfaces throughout plazas and pavement act as a sustainable rainwater harvesting system. Furthermore, building materials are carefully selected from certified sources, and PVC solar panels cover the highest rooftop spaces
ENTRY PLAZA Design of a flexible public entry plaza which corresponds with the high levels of pedestrian traffic between car street and the Market Center. The need for the plaza be well connected not just to the Market Center but also to future adjacent commercial developments which will front the Market Center.

FLOWET MARKET
The redevelopment plan focuses on very basic aspects of the city to be considered in details, traffic congestion, no pedestrian demarcation, dense built fabric, unorganized informal activities, scarcity of open spaces, noise and air pollution.
Given the guidelines for an elevation treatment, many of their upper floors abandoned and underused will convert into prosperous restaurants, offices or shops.
Over the time the revitalization of the area will flourish into the consequent up gradation of the existing buildings in the surroundings.
The temple plaza will act as an open living room for people to meet, gather, celebrate and recreate
SUSTAINABLE FEATURES
FORM DEVELOPMENT
The form is inspired from the typical Gutthu house of Karnataka which has a steeply pitched roof, combining single & double storied blocks. The facade is usually symmetrical around a central projection, the tallest and most impressive feature of the house. TERRACOTA CLADING TILE
