edgy street wear requires an edgy website. lonsdale came to OOTS with a brief to produce an exciting new website that not only showcased their clothing ranges but allowed customers to purchase online, opening up lonsdale to a world of online customers. The site gives users easy access to view the latest campaign, find their nearest store, discover how to join the lonsdale team and check out what’s happening with lonsdale in the media. when purchasing, customers can zoom in to see the garment features in detail and are given suggestions on other items that match to create the ultimate outfit!
lonsdale fanatics can sign up to receive regular eDMs so they’re the first to get a sneak peak at next season’s launch and exclusive online deals. The home page will be updated regularly to reflect the seasonal updates and their stylised shoots. Past campaign models include Miss universe Australia, Rachel finch and former Australia’s Next Top Model contestants, so there is always a bit of eye candy that makes the designing process just that bit more enjoyable for the OOTS graphics team!

In 2009 Maitland Tourism approached OOTS for campaign concepts which would leverage on their previously successful marketing and take the Maitland Tourism brand into the future. The brief was to be ‘out of the square’ and use the limited advertising budget to really put Maitland on the map. The creative policy was to ensure that whatever was delivered had the legs to last and develop over the coming few years. Oh and it needed to be CuT-ThROugh and eDgy! In response OOTS created a magical, enchanting escape-driven campaign to showcase Maitland as eclectic, elegant and a touch eccentric. The design was based on breaking away from everyday pressures of reality and embrace the freedom to

be whoever they want to be. OOTS played with the idea that your adventure in Maitland and in life is only limited by your imagination. Using photography to create an intriguing nostalgic vision, Maitland hunter valley’s new campaign has a particular focus on the 25 to 55 year old market, with a spotlight on visitors from Sydney and regional NSW and on increasing day visitation to the area. The accompanying TvC creatively incorporates elements of adventure, escapism, romance, festivals and feasts, with a deep narrator-style voiceover, to create an ambiance of drama, mystery, magic and enchantment.

Cruise hunter is the local Newcastle based organisation specifically created for the cruise industry. In 2008 Newcastle Port recognised the need to develop a department and marketing strategy with the sole purpose of promoting, managing and developing tourism for both domestic and international cruise ships. when Cruise hunter approached OOTS as part of a pitch process they were seeking branding, including a possible tagline, and asking for strategic direction in their advertising. Coming up against the big agencies, OOTS was thrilled to earn the business of this key tourism-driven organisation who are responsible for bringing the world to the hunter Region via ships. ‘Moor in Newcastle’ is the tactical tagline that successfully represents all that is on offer when you reach the Port of Newcastle. when the branding was officially launched, the international cruise industry press welcomed aboard the port which is the gateway to the hunter Region. Cruise hunter is now embarking on gigantic endeavours, with home porting commencing this year. P&O will be the first to dock in September and there are many more ships scheduled to follow. If the number of ships requesting access to this world class port continues to increase, then a permanent birthing and arrival/departure centre will be the next big development.

Along with the mainstream requirements for electrodry promotions, OOTS are currently working on media strategy and buying plus dreaming up new ideas to grow their non-traditional and new lines of business. Areas of electrodry now requiring further development and growth are tile grout and mattress cleaning. electrodry have recently been rewarded with the Asthma foundation Tick of Approval which will allow them further opportunities when marketing their products. Designed as the first collaborative website for the hunter Region to umbrella promotion and drive an untouched market to the correct local tourism areas for bookings. This website is fun, vibrant and a hub of travel information. OOTS have designed and driven this site and after the soft launch period expires it will be all about providing latest and most relevant information and generating organic promotion. This was a project where OOTS were given full rein to work with local tourism bodies to collect and bring together multiple areas of branding, images, copy and links. This site is mobile friendly and its possibilities are limitless. futuristically it will be a communication channel, featuring latest videos and comments/travel blogs from celebrities and will draw regular media attention as a leading tourism destination site.

life Cycle is one of the good guy organisations and boy is it nice to know that the better the strategy and marketing we do with them the better it is for our gorgeous planet. life Cycle is a recycling and e-waste solution. This hunter based service collects, redistributes or disposes correctly of second hand and unwanted goods. Originally seeking just branding and start-up promotional packs from OOTS, life Cycle have grown dramatically and now require our services on a very regular basis, primarily with print and press. In 2009 hunter Regional Tourism Association were given substantial funding from Tourism New South wales and the State government. This funding was to be used to deliver to market a holistic approach to marketing the hunter Region with a requirement of results and accountability in order to receive ongoing dollar for dollar funding. Three local agencies were asked to pitch to a room full of people from seven different local tourism bodies
to show the various possible strategies for branding the hunter Region as a whole while maintaining individuality of existing local branding. Additionally these agencies were asked to develop creative concepts and propose media and promotional vehicles. In late 2009 OOTS was proudly announced the new creative media agency for this big vision project. As part of this project OOTS will deliver to market 8 campaigns in 2010.

out of the square media aBoUt Us when one man, Marty Adnum, was told numerous times his personality and ideas were very ‘out of the square’, he decided to no longer dismiss these remarks. Instead, he ran with the suggestions that he does often think quickly, futuristically and most importantly differently. leaving the comfort zone of his television industry career then of 12 years, in 1997 Marty saw the need for a new agency to enter the Newcastle scene and so became Out of the Square Media.
