RUSSELL LANDS DEBUTS CLUBHOUSE RENDERING FOR WICKER POINT GOLF CLUB, A COORE AND CRENSHAW-DESIGNED COURSE LAKE MARTIN, AL (March 16, 2022) – Today, Russell Lands debuted a rendering of the clubhouse at Wicker Point Golf Club, the first Coore and Crenshaw-designed course in Alabama. The private club and clubhouse reflect the unique beauty and topography of the 18- hole course, which is scheduled to begin welcoming golfers in summer 2023. The design was created exclusively for Wicker Point Golf Club by Hank Long at Henry Sprott Long & Associates, a Birmingham-based firm which is widely considered an expert in private and lake club architecture. The clubhouse contractor selected, Brasfield & Gorrie, is also Birmingham-based. Construction is slated to begin in late spring 2022. The clubhouse will feature a generous wraparound porch with views of multiple holes and Lake Martin visible from nearly every room – all with a lake-house ambiance providing an ideal setting for dining, events or relaxing after a round. Accompanying the clubhouse is a standalone golf shop complete with pro shop and men’s and women’s locker rooms and will also feature a “wind down” room, including a lounge area and adjacent bar. A large, undulating practice putting course will not only allow players the opportunity to sharpen their skills before their round; they can choose to continue friendly competition well into the evening. Defined by its pine plantations, meandering creeks, and lakefront holes, Wicker Point Golf Club will challenge golfers and redefine the Alabama golf experience with the course’s distinctive settings, hole variety and unique amenities. Wicker Point Golf Club is the centerpiece of Lake Martin’s newest luxury residential development, The Heritage. The Heritage will include roughly 240 waterfront homesites and 130 wooded interior lots, with the first release coming summer 2022. A key amenity for Heritage homeowners is the lake club, a resident-owned facility that will include a fitness center, saline pool with an adjacent grill facility, eight tennis courts, a tennis pro-shop and eight pickleball courts as well as a beautiful event lawn, covered pavilions, firepits, waterfront beach area, and community dock complex.

The truth is that successfully selling your home takes strategy and preparation. The main factors impacting your sale is 1 – Location, 2 – List Price and 3 – Condition. Location is something you cant do much about. List price is something your agent is well versed in assisting you with. But condition? This is where a homeowner can have a huge impact on how quickly their home will sell and for what price. Getting your home in “market ready” condition can be overwhelming. We don’t all have the eye for home design but Joy Easley of Affirmation Interiors does! Joy offers home staging services and is excellent at working with sellers to edit their home to make it most appealing to prospective buyers. Joy’s top tips for a market ready home: 1. Declutter, Declutter, Declutter! Go through your home, room by room, and reduce the visible “stuff.” In closets and storage areas focus on getting everything off the floor and onto shelves. Making the floor visible makes the size of the space more recognizable. In living areas focus on simplifying décor and clutter - Less is more! 2. Have your home professionally cleaned. After decluttering consider investing in a deep cleaning. Cleaning windows, baseboards, fans/lighting and appliances will make your home feel brighter, newer and more appealing. 3. Depersonalize. Remove family photos and interest specific décor (like team trophies and sports memorabilia). This will remove the distraction of the buyer trying to connect with your family instead of connecting with your home. Buyers focused on the homeowners ask questions like: “I wonder why they are moving? I think our kids may have been on the same team! I wonder what they do for a living. Their kids are getting older… I bet they need more space!” Buyers focused on the home comment about the home itself: “Look at the size of this living room! I wonder if we could use this space as an office. I love this kitchen!”
