The King’s Singers WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9 Initially founded in 1968 by six choral scholars from King’s College, the vocal make-up of the group has not changed over the course of their five-decade-long career. The King’s Singers have been welcomed on the world’s greatest stages, such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall. Today, the group is still charged by the same lifeblood — one that radiates the joy singing brings every day and gives life to audiences with their virtuosity and vision for an exciting musical future.

Meklit TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22 An Ethio American vocalist, songwriter and composer, Meklit is known for her electric stage presence and innovative, deeply personal Ethio-Jazz songs. She writes music steeped in traditional Ethiopian rhythms blended with poetic lyrics. Her floating melodies and dancing grooves draw on a combination of sources, such as East African music, Nina Simone and Joni Mitchell. In this performance, Meklit’s signature jazzy rhythms will be on display alongside her longstanding quintet of bass, drums, percussion and tenor saxophone.

Lana Shuttleworth Chain of Parks Art Festival Presenting Artist THURSDAY, APRIL 21 In this presentation, “’Re-‘… A Prefix for Art and Life,” artist Lana Shuttleworth will discuss the pioneering creativity in her work that leads to a transformative journey from reclamation to rediscovery. From gutter to gallery, Shuttleworth’s work ignites a desire to recover and resee beauty around us by reusing, recycling and revising new ways to reduce waste. Shuttleworth’s art will be featured in LeMoyne’s exhibit “Recycled Beauty” from April 21–May 28 in honor of Earth Day.
