The Phou Khao Khouai mountains offer an amazing nature and countryside experience in villages in Laos! Teach English alongside local villagers, guides and children, while putting into practice tourism and trekking services.
This is an opportunity to get involved in a grass roots community and ecotourism program!
This is for the volunteer, family or couple with an interest in nature, village life, farming and local people, children and culture!
Help and share village life and work, trekking and farm work, your chance to experience Laos life in a village.
Volunteer in Ban Had Khai, Ban Na, Ban Yang Kua villages. The focus is on teaching English and environmental awareness to children and also teach English and guiding skills to guides and hospitality skills homestays. Phou Khao Khouai is home to endangered animals such as clouded leopards, gibbons, deer as well as birds such as the beautiful green peafowl. By helping the villagers earn an extra income from community based tourism you will help preserve this unique environment. Initiated over 10 years ago by a German aid organization, and with Canadian support villagers developed this Phu Khao Khouai Community and Ecotourism program.
Accomodation
Volunteers stay with with a hosts, simple Lao style. Meals with your host family.

These villages are located in Bolikhamsai Province, abou 100km, an hour and a half by bus from Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
