Every penny of profit from the venue goes directly to young people in Norfolk through our charity OPEN Youth Trust.
A a compelling proposition
THE VENUE Formerly the site of a wine merchant, Gurney’s Bank and the Regional HQ of Barclays, the 50,000 ft² landmark Grade ll listed building on Bank Plain has played a pivotal role in the development of Norwich, which is indeed a fine city. It is now home to OPEN, a multi-purpose venue whose profits are donated to OPEN Youth Trust, a charity that has been helping young people in Norfolk for over ten years.
With funding increasingly hard to come by, the charity is working towards self-sustainability by optimising commercial income from the venue and increasing its capacity. The multi-purpose nature of the venue, its top rated technical facilities and exquisite catering for any taste or budget, mean that we can offer a variety of corporate solutions, fulfilling any specific communication need in a combination of flexible spaces.
The event looked amazing, sounded amazing and ran super smoothly thanks to all the team at OPEN. The new technical facilities and staging were superb with no need to hire in any additional lighting or sound. The launch was the culmination of months of work, so to see our new brand brought alive so professionally was truly emotional for our partners and created a sense of pride in our staff. CANAPÉS & BUFFETS BANQUETS FINE DINING OUTSIDE CATERING CHILDREN’S BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Our in-house catering offers budgets and menus for any event from canapés and buffets to gala dinners or fine dining in the privacy and splendour of the former Bank Manager’s Dining Room.
The food was exquisitely presented, imaginative, delicious, fresh and good restaurant quality. The service was friendly, not intrusive and helped make a relaxed evening with friends. It would be perfect to use OPEN’s catering to prepare a special event dinner, such as a family celebration, or wedding party and the food would certainly enhance the occasion. A wonderful and special evening was had by us all. Nan & Jon Neville-Jones

THE CHARITY
DROP IN HUB
We engage with around 4,500 young people each year aged between 11 and 19. A programme of positive activities and workshops give the most disadvantaged the life skills and confidence to find their own path in life into meaningful work or following their passion. A further 10,000 young people a year attend events, awards ceremonies, music and dance shows, fulfilling our remit as a youth venue.
HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES
Our holiday activities attract younger children aged 4-12 years old.
SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT
Schools are sending us students to be re-engaged as they struggle with the transition to secondary education or fall into intervention.

We are now taking what we do so well in Norwich out to youth clubs suffering from funding cuts in areas of rural isolation, under the banner of OPEN Norfolk.
