This iconic publication is a record of an exhibition held at the National Gallery of Canada May 24 - July 6, 1975 and a catalogue raisonné documenting 355 paintings, objects, and wood-blocks created between 1960 and 1974. The book, designed by Judd and fabricated to his exacting specifications, has the sculptural presence of much of his work. LEADAPRON Portrait Ken Ohara SIGNED by Ken Ohara. Unique Artistʼs book, 1971. Small Folio 14 x 11”. One of a kind artistʼs book of photographer Ken Oharaʼs portraits of Hollywood film directors circa 1971, shot in the close-up style immortalized in his 1970 book, One. Sixteen full-page vintage silver gelatin prints (13.5 x 10.5”) of the leading directors of the day, handbound in an accordion format. The book is SIGNED by Ohara and was conceived and executed entirely by him. Identified by a small label affixed underneath their portraits, the directors included are: Claude Chabrol, Dick Fontaine, Werner Herzog, Ronald Neame, Bernardo Bertolucci, Marcel Hanoun, Marin Karmitz, David Lean, Bernd Upnmoor, Liliana Cavani, Paul Morrissey, Ken Loach, a young Martin Scorscese, Francois Truffaut and Maurice Hatton. There are, at most, a handful of vintage images of some of the more prominent directors; other photographs are likely unique as is the book. Price on request
